Just a Heads up, I have tons of issues with sandisk cards in trailcams. They will always eventually cause issues.

Just make sure the speed on the card is what you want/need.
My cameras wont work in the slower speed SD cards, but the 80 or 120 speeds work great.
Careful with amazon, i order all mine through there but have ordered specific speed cards and whomever shoves them in the box has been known just to grab the same type/size and ignore the speed. it makes a big difference.
Lots of cameras require you to reformat every time the card goes in the camera. Some brands of cameras are fussier than others.

Good point. I've been in the habit of doing that; so far no issues!

Heh! I recall sourcing a 32 MB extended temperature range card for $13K CDN, back when SanDisk was still called "SunDisk" (Sun computer systems took them to court and made them change their name).
So happy they are so cheap now.

Reformatting every time you put a card in was a game changer...Way less issues.
SD cards are the easy part. It's the lithium batteries that are killer!

Haha, yep! I always make sure that my camera has taken at least a couple pictures before I leave (and am getting better at making sure I turn it on to take pictures the second time.. too many times I come back to see the cam is still in “menu”
Mode, haha)
Yeah lithiums are amazing in the cameras, but are getting harder and harder to find.
Hopefully someone out there has some decent sources. Used to get them from Costco for $14 for 20.. now can hardly find any and like everything else, the price has doubled.

As in reformat on a computer? Or you can actually reformat in the trail cam itself?

Of the 4 different brands of trail cams I own each brand allows you to "format" the card right on the device as opposed to doing it on a computer.

Ok. I run stealth cam. Have to look at the instruction manual apparently.
I always check pics/cards on my laptop, so was curious if that would work formatting on there or if it had to be done in the particular camera the card is being used in

reformat on the trail camera itself. The Stealthcam's i run, you push menu, up twice, enter, Check Yes, then it's formatted.
It does delete all the pictures on the card and formats it to that specific camera. so don't use cards you care about the pictures.
