hey guys I just wanted to show you some pictures from my goose hunt this year. I am 14 years old and I moved from Alberta to BC when I was 10, so I never got the chance to hunt Alberta that much. Every year I go on a thanksgiving weekend goose hunt in eastern Alberta with my grandpa. I got my dad into hunting 2 seasons ago and ever since we have been hooked. I hunt in BC for deer mainly but this coming year we are doing a 2-3 week long moose hunt in northern BC. If anyone has a 30-06 they would like to sell for a decent price i would love to take it off your hands! I need a gun for the moose trip.
This hunting season I shot a 3 by 3 mulie and my dad shot a 5 by 5 whitetail, so it was a great season for us!
Anyways back to goose hunting! This year we had a very successful trip. Every year there seems to be many more snows. This year I caught the snow goose bug!
Our first couple hunts we didn't have a ton of luck because the birds kept jumping fields and as soon as there is 1000 birds in the field over you just cant compete with it. Then we met up with some hunters that we hunted with the year prior who were killing a lot of birds. they had already killed over 120 over a couple days. We ran into them when were eating at a restaurant and they asked if we wanted to join them. Our answer had to be yes!! So the next day we met them at the field that they had shot 26 out of the night before and decided to shoot it again. We had a blast and i shot 9, 2 Canada's, 3 specks, 2 snows,1 duck, and i believe a juvi blue. we ended up with 24 geese and 3 ducks. We shot that field again that night and shot 20 more!

we had never used silosocks before and we had soon fell in love with them. In preparation for this coming year we now have about 500 of them.

the next day our friends left but they told us about a field they scouted but couldn't find the landowner for permission because he was out of town. so we went and got permission and set up there that evening. The field was cut but the landowner hadn't picked up the rows so it made for some amazing cover for the laydown blinds. the birds couldn't see us at all and we only put out just over 100 dekes and we brought in 9 flocks of 500 snows a piece, and a ton of ducks, specks, and a few Canada's. Some of snow flocks were over 1000 birds. the flocks were so loud it was hard to hear when my grandpa yelled get em! it was just me and grandpa and we ended shooting about 25 ducks and geese. we should have shot double that at least but we weren't shooting great. I don't have any photos because I left it in the hotel room on accident. But it was a great way to end the awesome year I had. thanks for reading!
