Hey all,
So we recently purchased the Umarex Surge .177 and Benjamin Shockwave .22 strictly for targets and tin can shooting.
Zero intention of hunting or killing anything at all.
Now both these guns are considered firearm because they are rated at 1200 and 1000 fps. So without a doubt it's not allowed to be discharged within city limits or public places.
With that being said, these aren't real guns and so we don't really want to pay hundreds to go to a range (where a lot of people view these pellet guns as toys).
I get that if you own or have permission from a landowner out in the farm, then you can do whatever.
Where do those who don't have a farm goes to shoot paper targets and cans without getting arrested?
So far I've gotten these suggestions (not all the brightest though):
1) just do it anyways until someone complains (I'd rather not)
2) setup in a basement (safety hazards much?)
3) go hiking and find a secluded area (sounds fun until you get caught carrying a gun on your back through the trails)
4) find a field out of city limits and setup camp (not sure about this)
So far it seems like a lot of work just to shoot cans and papers
Any other suggestions you guys got?
