Dr. Terry Bryant interview
Very interesting and insightful podcast on "Silvercore Outdoors' Youtue channel with Dr. Bryant speaking at length to various aspects of firearms culture. Little over two hours but very interesting. Name of video is "Fighting for Freedom: Dr Bryant on Gun Laws, Government Overreach, Empowering Gun Owners."

As glad as I am to see her in the position, rather than ex RCMP, she still needs to find a way to speed up the PAL application system , as applications seem to be spending more time , than they should, with her office.

Pretty decent podcast, only got to 53min mark thru last nite. From what I saw, the office is funded by the province now, so, maybe it's now a provincial issue in not having enough people to do the job? Only got to the part where she described how may miles she puts on travelling to gun shows, ranges etc.

I'm about halfway through the video. Wow thank you Danielle Smith for hiring this chief firearms officer for Alberta. This Dr. Terri Byrant sounds like such a blessing for us. No wonder everyone is moving here. If you are freedom loving,Alberta is more promising than any other place in Canada.
Any sportsman, taxpayer that doesn't want your money wasted or property stolen by government or firearms owner of any type should be so thankful for this current provincial government.
Now if we could get Pierre Poilievre federally we would be all set.

Same old same old. Firearms are federally regulated. She's handcuffed.
Any provincial CFO needs to follow federal law. IE....Puppet on a string , no hammer.
If the RCMP did not provide provincial police services Alberta could control how federal laws are enforced.
No hate for the RCMP here , just hope next election will give law abiding gun owners more freedom. I would like to buy a new revolver before I croak.

The laws are federal, but the Alberta office is paid by the province, so they control the budget, and how many staff she can hire, to get the work done. If she doesn't have enough staff to proceed PALs in a timely manner, the extra cash has to come from the province, to hire extra staff.

I am pretty sure it was Jason Kenny who put her in that position.

This is true but my post was not about re-newals and staff issues. It was leaning more towards the Federal thumb on any Provincial CFO.
