Default First day of spring 2015

went and checked out one of my springtime lakes, got out of the truck to admire the WAVES!!! looked around and no frikkin fishing rod in the truck. oh well, back home to grab a couple rods and then back to the WAVES!!!! wind died down by the time I got back so my timing was good at least. got the canoe in the WATER!!!! and trolled around for the afternoon. water is still pretty cold but I did manage to catch 3 pike, first of the season was around 6 pounds and fat. got a hammer handle and a deenk too. got cold by the time I was thinking of getting off the lake so I packed up and headed home. Awesome start to the open water season, Im happy its finally here. Sorry you guys and gals up north, remember to pack your long johns and thermal socks when you hit the ICE
Beauty start to my day, view from my front yard

rigged and ready

secret lure. wallyworld special

took my pet rocks out for a rip

I see you have an old tried and trusted battle barge early eighties vintage...I ran outside by the wood shed to see if you borrowed my canoe!!! Have not seen the exact colour and style for many moons...don't share this secret but if you turn it upside down and paint on it 5 diamonds your fishing success will triple!

Hey I am still hammering fish through the ice everytime I go out - I am not complaining about the ice one bit!

I'll probably be sad to see it go!

Nice update, Wayne, good luck this open water season! ( like you really need it.......... )
