Default Want to build a 27 nosler

I have a Winchester Model 70 that I can use as a donor action/stock for a 27 Nosler is there anyone local that could AO community could recommend to do this and what would be the approximate cost. I am pretty set on a 27 Nosler but have thought of a 28 Nosler as well

KS arms could do that I am sure
It'll be the cost to chamber + barrel so $1100 or so

Bob Jury could also build the barrel and Paul at PR Precision could chamber it.
If you talk nice to fps plus he may come out of retirement and do the work- I can recommend all of them from experience including KS Arms

My buddy has a 27 Nosler full custom built by KS arms. The velocities are no where near what he thought it would be. If it were mine and you want a 27 cal I would just do a fast twist 270wsm.

I thought seriously about a 27 nosler but opted instead for the 7mm PRC, it will do everything the 27 nosler will do and more.

I have a Nosler model 21 rifle chambered in 27 Nosler. Velocities are somewhat lower than listed in the Nosler loading data, but still exceed the 270 wsm by a good margin.
I haven’t shot mine a lot but is very accurate with the 155 Barnes Lrx. Very flat shooting round.

How fast was he going with it?
I have a 26” 270 wsm built on a long action, 1:8 twist. Shoots 170 bergers 3030-3050. Had one lot of powder run up to 3100. Hornady brass, H1000.
If bergers are not your thing, you could get some crazy speeds with a 130 ttsx.

I think around 3100 with a 150 LRAB.

I would take what I read on the Nosler loading data site with more than one grain of salt! Nosler everything shows very high velocities but other nearly identical cartridges are much slower… hmm, think there’s some home team bias here. Check 28 Nosler vs 7 STW, case capacity is nearly equal yet the STW is several hundred fps slower ( and way slower than my own loads). It’s kinda like Hornady load data for the PRC line.

Yeah that seems slow. WSM on a long action is a solid option.

I had a 270wsm. With a 145 eldx and Reloader 26 I was getting 3247 fps.

270win? You need a magnum bolt face for the 27Nosler and perhaps a magazine box, perhaps even work on the feed rails.
