I took a couple pictures to show you about bending the cable to much. The snare shown is 1/16 black snare cable, 1/16” keflock, 280 Sullivan BAW, our A1 spring combo. Sitting in one of our coiled snare support wires.
This picture is showing the cable slightly bent. This will allow the spring to fire and take up extra slack keeping the cable tight.
This picture shows the cable over bent. And what happens here is the spring fires and strokes out without keeping the cable tight because the bend adds to much slack in the cable. Making the spring basically non effective.
