Default prices

Any guesses on what prices will be this week?

My guess is
$70 yote
$50 fox
$8 rats
If that is true then I can live with that

I have been seeing a lot of yotes selling for $50 and those are the crap ones from out east or in the U.S. Ours have to be worth another $20 I would think which would be a %30 decrease from last year roughly right?

as long as a person isn't relying on a fur check too make a house/ski doo/truck payment. speculating on the fur market is kind of fun.

putting up the best possible fur is about all a person can do.

unless there's been some private treaty sales(don't think there has been) i'm not sure of any coyotes selling. on an international level.

coyotes vary so much from northern, central, southern alberta that its hard to say alberta coyotes are worth 20$ more. they can be worth more. how much? after next week we'll know.

they averaged 90$ ish, last feb. if it's 70$ avg this feb, that would be great!

i hope you see the numbers that you've guessed. your coyotes look great! good luck!! good luck every one!

I'm thinking nube will get over $70 for his dogs . They look great . My last dogs caught are better than the ones I have on the sale from Dec to early Jan catches .. go figure .Wish they were on this Feb sale .

I hope your right but I'd sooner guess low an be happier if they do go high. There a pile of fur put in the sales this winter. I think rats will be around $6, fox $40, coyotes $55 an beaver $33.
With the drought for so long around here the rats were just starting to come back nicely last summer. I only trapped the sloughs that they would freeze out of. Hoping next season will be better. Will see if the gamble pays off or I kick myself lol

I'm thinking yotes will only be down 15% from last Feb. Braggadoe, I believe the Chinese and other big buyers will show and with the much smaller offering at FHA I don't think that would be a good reflection of what to expect at NAFA. Had a fur buyer pick up some of my lesser quality dogs for just under $80 each. I hope I don't regret selling more to him! Another thing to note is that the Canadian $ has become much weaker compared to last Feb. That alone will make a several percent difference in our favour as the auction is all US$. We'll all know for sure by next week.

before the size or the grade?

if its before the grade. it means it's a labeled skin. that's good!

So I see they have 15 of my yotes listed in the lotting valuation, however, I sent in 16 and that is reflected in the current receipts. Whats up? I'm sure it is my xxl super select yote they lost! I suppose somewhere in the fine print it says they are not responsible for lost pelts and I am screwed!

They are missing one on my account also, I think it was the boarder line mangy that I sent in. Figured I may as well as I went through the trouble of fleshing it.

if its showing in your receipts. then it will show up. 85 000 coyotes compared to 62 000 last feb. they're still sorting them.

it would be pretty cool to see what 85 000 coyotes looks like.

marten and muskrat numbers are down, which might help them hold alittle bit better.

the US dollar is higher/stronger. which is good for canadain sellers, but bad for foreigners buying in US currency.

the weak US dollar helped the frenzy last feb.

What is a labeled skin? Does that mean it is part of the show lot for the rest of the strings in hat grade?

I think it's just a sales bump! They actually affix a label to the skins that will be used in the garment . Proving its wild fur. There may be more to it but that is my understanding!

what does 'bought back' mean? I understand they didn't want to let it go for the price the fur buyers were asking, but it looked like the DMG3's didn't sell at all. I had a pretty rough one I sent in anyways, so I am not really worried about the $6-10 I didn't get for it. but do they hold until the end of the auction, keep it for the next sale or just trash them???

the skin I had was missing part of its mane, so I didn't have high hopes for it. fleshed it and dried it more for practice.
