Default Disguised Gun Cases?

Hoping to pick up my new Ruger from the shop this weekend. It's my first gun and I'm expecting my RPAL in the mail any day.

Was talking to my Dad and he made a point. If people see me walking around with an obvious gun carrier, I could be targeted for robbery. I was at Bass Pro on Saturday and considering one of the fancy Redhead cases (That say Redhead in big letters on the side). After Dad's warning I bought a simple Plano case from Canadian Tire instead. Aside from the padlocks, it looks more or less like any old power tool case and possibly won't draw unwanted attention.

Not certain if the Plano will fill my needs long term though. I don't think it's really big enough to handle 2 guns and their ammo if I wanted to take a few out to the range. So what does that leave in the not-so-obvious department? Maybe a Pelican case? Any thoughts?

I have the cheap plastic cases and put them in a duffle bag, but I have never been worried about being targeted by someone for robbery any more than someone packing an expensive golf bag, skate board, or running shoes for that matter.

Didn't think of a duffle bag. That's probably the easiest solution

EDIT: Ofcourse whatever one I use, I probably don't want to bring it to the airport next Christmas. Might set off some alarms lol.

I havee a Dillon bag like this.
it is lockable , and even has a soft case inside for a pistol, but will house several of the plastic cases if you wish.

Lots of guys simply use a Beach carpenter's tool box as well!

5.11 tactical makes some really nice concealment soft cases and backpacks... They run around $120ish...

For handguns I have several transport methods depending on what I'm taking, I have an aluminum tool briefcase from Canadian tire that looks very suspicious when carrying it around, I some times put the guns in there original plastic cases with a cable lock thru the trigger and a pad lock thru the outside handle and pack that case in a duffle bag... More often then not I pack several into my long plastic rifle case... Remember that anything can be used for transport as long as its locked... If a backpack has 2 zippers you can get a padlock thru to secure a compartment then it's still a sturdy opaque case...
