Default Cooper 223 or a CZ 223?

I want to get a new gopher rifle and having trouble deciding which one to pick between the cooper and CZ. I already have a Tikka 22-250 and I love it but it has too much recoil and I can't see the gophers blowing up in my scope....

I would like to hear from people who owns a CZ or a cooper about their experiences. I already have a Leupold Mark 4 to go on either one.

I have a CZ 525 in 204 it is a great rifel and do you have your heart set on a 223?? If not look at a 204 you can see your hits every time. One of my buddys have 22-250 and 204 and he says that the 204 throws the gophers cloce to twice the hight!!!

I just want to see the result of the shot in my scope.......and I can go with the 204 also. Doesn't have to be a 223........ So let me put it this way....which one will have a less recoil.....204 or 223?

Default Triggers

I have shot both Cooper and CZ rifles. The 2 Cooper rifles that I shot the triggers were crap. When you pay the kind of money that you have to pay for a Cooper you would expect to get a very good trigger. The CZ I shot had a set trigger and was very nice for less than half the cost.

I could not tell you that because I have not shot a 223 but the 204 I have has no recoil.

Default why bother

try 18 gr of imr 4198 over 50 gr tnt in your 22-250, duplicates 223 velocity, and you don't need to tie up cash in another gun, lee.

The CZ's set trigger is some sweet. My choice of caliber: .223 all the way.

MS

Define crap? The trigger in my Cooper is beautiful, light and crisp. Never heard any Cooper owners complain about crap triggers. Mine is very comparable to both of my HS Precision triggers. FS

Other CZ's you may consider are the Hornet, and the 221 Fireball. Both have little recoil and great accuracy.
I have the Varmint 204 in CZ and again no noticeable recoil.

My Cooper is in a 17 Mach2, zero recoil there, FS

Default Cooper triggers

Enough creep and a heavy enough pull to make the rifle hard to shoot accurately. Not on just the one rifle but on two.Was looking at buying these rifles but after shooting them changed my mind.

The trigger on my Jackson Hunter is very crisp, and easily adjusts to 44oz,which is what I set all of my hunting rifles at.On the other hand, many of the recent 700s that I have fired,do have noticeable creep.
