UN Climate Change Conference 2024
So front and Center issue is ...
Having the Developed world send money to the under developed world to aid in the transition to a "Green Economy". (AKA Buying windmills and Solar Panels.
No wait, isn't the Developed world sending money to the under developed world always the UN Initiative?
Sure glad that Trump is in the US and will pull out of the Paris Accord.
This will of course hurt the Europeans who were marketing the solution before they could convince us of the problem of Global Warming, Climate Change, etc.
After all, it was the Europeans who needed the rest of the World to buy European Windmills and Solar Panels. They just needed to get the rest of us to believe in the problem, real or not. That was why we had the Kyoto Accord, and the Paris Accord.
Perhaps the real problem is explosive growth in the Human population on the Earth. In 1982 India declared its 1 Billionth person. But somehow saw the need to let its population grow to 1.6 Billion. Nigeria doubled its population in the same period.
Each extra person needs food, clothing, housing, medical care, etc, all from the same limited resources of this earth. All furnished by fossil fuel consumption.
For all the conferencing that the UN and the Climate Change Activists do, you would think they would see the relationship. They refuse to admit it.
But few want to discuss the taboo of education on reproduction and free birth control to the Developing World to limit population growth.
So perhaps the true agenda of the Climate Activists is now made clear. Get Money from other Countries. Don't ask questions about what we will do with your money. Believe in the good your money is doing for Climate Change.

Best to increase our taxes so we can send cash to poor countries.
Much more effective than sending cleaner energy (ie natural gas) and increasing our own economy 🙄

George Thorogood...no
Gary Trudeau (cartoonist)...no
GRETA THUNBURG...alas, that's it!!!
Guess we gotta wait for the cheque to clear before she can chastise us...perhaps her jet is running late.
But don't worry...the disciples will wait and scowl and dream up new financial punishments for imaginary causes
Surprisingly, someone keeps listening to this sewage

It was an American, Norman Borlaug, who developed a disease and drought resistant wheat. Its success in Mexico and India enabled their populations to almost double. He got a Nobel prize for this.

It takes extreme stupidity to believe that the fools that fly around the world, and that vacation on yachts, actually care about our climate, yet here we are. As long as we have idiots that continue to vote for those idiots, the decline will continue.

The population of the world is ever increasing and is estimated to increase in 2024 by over 70 million, births out number deaths by a 2:1 ratio

China and India, the world's biggest polluters, are not obligated to reduce emissions. I'm still waiting for someone to prove even slightly, that we have the power to reduce our impact on the planet without drastic population reductions.

Just read that Canada under performed every G7 country in emissions reductions since 1990. Most of them beat Canada without a carbon tax including the US.
Canada may be rich in resources but is a goldmine for tax revenues. That is what the climate change agenda is all about. That and the green tech industry which every politician is willing to exploit for personal gain. At least big oil has a product that consumers need.

There are 65,000 people attending the confrence! 2,229 are from Azerbaijan, the rest presumably will be traveling by jet aircraft! How much "hot air" does that generate? Have these people heard of the internet? Zoom confrence? Oh wait, then you dont get to stay in fancy hotels and slurp up fine champagne and caviar!
Is the climate changing? You bet! Has been since the beginning of time! Is our consumption of fossil fuels affecting that change? If so, how much? These wingnuts are talking trillions of dollars! Most, if not all of them will not be bothered by added expenses, because they are government people and most are quite wealthy in their own right! It's the great unwashed masses that will bear the burden!

Why does the developed world have a declining birth rate?
Young Women and Men stay in school and then post secondary education. No time for a family.
Then you start a career, and service your student loan debt, and then decide to start a family at age 30ish. The women have careers and typically have no more than 2 children. Our tax rate and our standard of living and our debt loads mean that both parents have to work and children are expensive.
Developing Nations often have religions where women are not to go to school past grade 6. In Kenya for example, public education stops at grade 6. If you are poor and uneducated, there is a strong tendency to get married very early, and start having large families. Kenya is a progressive nation in Africa. Most African nations are failed states and have rampant birth rates.
Orthodox Muslim Nations have huge growth rates, as their women are stuck in a role where they have no choice but start families early. They are not allowed to work, not allowed to go to post secondary education, and they are denied birth control.
So again the Developing World population growth demands consumption of natural resources to ensure a roof over the head, food on the table, and clothes on the back.
Climate Change has always been a label for the true agenda of Wealth Transfer from Developed Nations to Developing Nations. Developing Nations do not care what steps the Developed World has taken to hit its emissions targets and do nothing to hit their emissions targets. They just want the money with no strings attached.

Japan and china are already in a declining population situation. The only growth is in central Africa and parts of India. And their numbers are dropping also. It is now predicted that the global population will peak by 2050 and decline quickly thereafter. And from my look at the numbers they are optimistic. Almost all their forecasts assume birthrates staying flat going forward whilst they are actually still dropping in most countries with no evidence that trend won’t continue. Global contraction is going to be an increasingly discussed issue. Canada can blunt the effects through immigration but a country like china is going to be hammered by an aging and shrinking population. As all countries enter decline immigration is going to be less and less of an option. Interesting times.

Just listened to Environment Minister Steven Guillbert interviewed by CBC at
CON 29 in Haku.
Does anyone know why he continually repeats words over and over and over again? This is not a stutter, but it seems he is maybe really nervous??
He is trying to glad hand Canada's model, but at least he is not promising any new money for the Global South in the interview.
All the same, he still is trying to say that 8 out of 10 Canadian Families are getting more money rebated than what they spend on Carbon Tax.
HE STILL REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE TAX INFLATION HE HAS CREATED ON OUR COST OF LIVING THROUGH THE CARBON TAX.
Funniest moment is when the Taliban representative claimed he would start Bi Lateral Meetings with the USA on Climate Change. What the Taliban really want is the frozen $7 Billion that is held by the USA for the legitimate Afghan Government by the USA. But hey! if spinning Climate Change gets money out of the USA, sure.
Lets see how that works out.
Not alot of good is done by the UN. It has been hijacked long ago as a tool to syphon money out of the Global North, Russia excluded of course!

The latest is a Federal ad campaign about how much carbon tax money they're giving back, if that's true, why bother collecting it ?

Well it is impossible to give more back then what they take. How many millions is spent just in collection, processing and delivery of these funds not to m nation taxing the carbon tax.
They are finally going to give small businesses a so called rebate and they are taxing that too.
Just pure Liberal stupidity.

Stupid, yes. Obviously just empty claims about what they have done, are doing, and will do. Of course none of it ever happened, is happening, or will happen. Liberals have always been big on boasting, small on doing.
All they've ever really done in nine years is spend, tax, and lie.
They know they're done if an election happened so now all they can do is delay and continue with the lies. At this point I don't think they even care about the scandals or being caught doing illegal things. There's no consequences anyway. They have no options other than to ride it out and collect their paychecks and golden pensions. There really ought to be a way for the people to force an election when the government has failed them so completely. A leadership with any morals at all would step aside.

China emits more CO2 in 2 weeks than Canada does in 1 year, so remind me again how Canada's net zero and carbon tax will save the planet.

That’s because of people like you Canadians having a doubts about the whole climate emergency agenda even thou it is pretty evident that the sky is falling and the oceans are risings and and and oh forgot the forest fires!
Every time they show this idiot Gibault( pardon my spelling) - I’m sure that I’m looking at a deeply crazed and possessed dude that should be kept in a padded room….

They never tell you what the administration costs are for the carbon tax program is. They may give some money back but they take more out of the other pocket for the bean counters.

I just paid some fuel bills and the carbon tax was over $3k. If the government was losing money, they wouldn’t have the program in place. It’s like the GST and gun registry which take a bunch of cash out of the pockets of workers in Western Canada and Northern Ontario and redistribute it to civil servants in Ottawa and the east coast.
Bringing 6 billion people out of poverty is going to add a lot of C02 to the earth’s atmosphere. If Canada’s per capita emissions are among the highest in the world, maybe we need to slow down immigration to meet our climate goals.
As Jordan Peterson says, anyone who thinks the earth is overpopulated should jump off first.
Woman have been taught since I was in high school (1990) that careers are more important than kids. they try starting a family when they’re 35 and the biological clock is banging and clanging and find out they’re too late.

Oh they do think we are stupid and some are. I have a co worker that brags how she gets more back than she spends based on her energy bills and fuel costs. I asked if she was compensated for all the costs that the carbon tax puts on the supply chain. I could see the wheels turning when I mentioned how the farmers, truckers, retailers all pay it…. Well we do. It’s a solid con job by the libs
