Default Hornady Anvil Base

Has anyone used the Hornady Anvil Base to work in conjunction with the Hornady Comparator body on a digital caliber for measuring Or do you prefer to use the stand by Vernier Caliper with comparator body only . It was mentioned you get a better reading due to the case head being against a flat bigger area.

IMO it is more accurate WITHOUT the base.
