Almost bought a new Xbolt 2 from them, but was happy to give P&D my money instead.

Care to elaborate. I’m south of stony, never been in the store, but I’m intrigued…. Do tell

I bought some ammo from them. It’s a pawn shop with a license to sell firearms and ammo.

Reasons to go to a pawn shop:
You're selling stolen goods
You're buying stolen goods
You are getting the worst loan imaginable

This shop is surely doomed without the support of the Alberta outdoorsmen forum...

I won,t say they are in to stolen goods, but I will say I wont go back there. They have no components other than a bit of powder, some ammo, a few guns and a truly pawn shop mentality. With goods that are legitamatly returned (pre autorized) for credit and replaced with a more expensive item, they provide you with a 65 % store credit rather than apply the full original cost to the new purchase. A real Pawn Shop transaction. Not for me.

I also bought stuff from them a couple months ago. Their gun counter was fine. I had no problems at all dealing with them.

Without more details from the OP it's difficult to figure out what the problem is.

I am fine with doing business with a pawn shop if I have to. I want there to be more firearms retailers. There used to be complaints about Milarm (now gone), Wholesale Sports (now gone). A little store called The Shootist in St. Albert (now gone). Now I see online complaints about Cabela's. Less choice is not a good thing.

I was there on Wednesday and bought some ammo for a new rifle. They matched the lower price of P&D. They were low on components but so is everybody else. They told me they could order anything in. Not a bad experience but typical pawn shop.
One thing I don't like, and this was the same with Swamp Donkey is that they feel they have to use the F word constantly. That was the same thing with Milarm. Just my opinion.

it lacks professionalism assuming that; I hate going into shops where there needs to be that air of profanity as proof of manhood

I’ve been in there a few times. It’s a good shop. They will order for you if needed, and price match other shops. It’s nice to not have to drive into the city for things!
