Default Elk Hunting WMU 523 (Falher Alberta)

Being raised in the cold lake, Albert area I haven't had the privilege to elk hunt.

This year we are heading north of Falher Alberta for our first elk hunt. Planning September 14-20 to have the opportunity at archery and rifle.

We have exclusive rights on some private farm land and I have read more books than I can count and watched hours of videos.

In short I supper pump but in reality have not idea what i am doing.

Any wisdom would be appreciated on how to hunt the elk and a feel for elk population in the area would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
Keith

You'll learn more on how to hunt elk during your trip than you ever would reading the best advice here. Enjoy! It should be a great time of year in a great location.

Hunt them like Whitetails...only difference is they are more vocal so use calls to your advantage to locate them

All good advice given, especially to first one.

Learn each time you go out.

If there are 2 of you and you have a bull coming in, especially in archery season, make sure the caller is behind you 50m or more to draw the bull past you.

Good luck - have FUN !!
