are these legal in Canada? also, are the take down ones less accurate?
also what other brands are comparable? maybe for less. I already have 2 brownings and I have been super happy with them, so I probably will get the browning, but would like input on other brands.
As far as take-down lever actions go, you can pick up a "Trail's End" Winchester M94 for close to $300 more than the browning at cabela's, but I've only ever seen it chambered in .30-30. That will be true for most levers you'll see around (except for the odd .45-70) so if your heart is set on a .30-06 you might just want to go with the blr. Marlins will be much less expensive but again you are limited in your choice of calibre and you may find that their rifles vary a bit in their fit and finish.
With the hoarding in the US added to more people shooting all the time it's become where you can find one. I always check with the, "local" gunshops to see if they can get me one in, last couple yrs it's been iffy. Then I look further afield.

I'd suggest check P&D in Edmonton, Ellwood Epps and the gun dealer in mcadam NB. Odds are one or more will have what you want in stock. All are good to deal with in my experience.
