Default public shooting ranges?

I've recently moved to the Edmonton area and am looking for places open to the public for shooting. I have not found a public range, only places that require membership. Open to established ranges or open space where shooting is permitted. Thanks for any ideas...

The vast majority of ranges do require membership, Unless a public range is supervised full time, they just become a garbage dump, where people make a habit of doing what they want, with many people not practicing the safe handling and use of firearms. Camrose is still selling unlimited memberships for $110, if you are willing to settle for a 100m range.

I am not aware of any public ranges in the Edmonton area. A few Ranges permit guests, but you would need to attend with a member. Sounds like CHAS and Camrose may be your best bet for getting a membership.

It's not the Sherwood Park range, you won't get a 2016 range membership at Sherwood Park.

I think you need to be sponsored to get Membership with Tofield Gun Club. As mentioned by Elk, SPFGA Range memberships for 2016 are no longer available as the cap was reached on the same day applications were accepted. The best advice (no guarantee as it will depend on the number of spots open in 2017), is to purchase a 2016 General Membership and request an upgrade to a 2017 Range Membership when you are invited to renew in the fall. For 2016, SPFGA admitted about 4900 members.
