Hunting with glasses sucks big time.
So.... how in hells name does a guy still hunt in the mountains with glasses on????
They fog up
They get snow on em
The frames block out my side view vision so I can’t pick up tell tale movement....
I hate getting old.
This is brutal.
Imma gettin contacts.... hope I can stand em.

Yup they suck. I tried contacts, my eyes are too dry and I’ll never be able to use them. Good luck, if you can wear them I’m sure they’ll work well.

Bessie i understand your frustration, I went a different route and got Lasik many years ago. I don't regret it for a minute.

I've worn glasses since I was a kid, never really bothered me.

I'm farsighted
Have to put on glasses (not real glass just +1.5 magnifiers) to go on the interweb, read paper stuff (adult sized stuff), use a mobile phone etc..........but I can see tangos clearly at any distance. Using a rifle scope is not a problem. Old and blessed
I feel fer ya and everyone who has vision troubles

No man should ever do that. They make our faults blatantly obvious.
Laser correction does wonders for some people, not so much for others. My issue with it is the potential for reduced night vision that some experience. Unfortunately, they cannot guarantee that outcome during the consultation and testing phase, it's an all or nothing gamble. Although it is much better nowadays.
As someone who has worn glasses my entire life, can't see much without'em, I can't bring myself to potentially jeopardize my night vision.

The first few times you try to stick your finger in your eye sucks lol. Very quick you will find it is a piece of cake.
I only use them to ride the sled(no way to ride with glasses and a helmet when it is cold although a couple friends try and bitch about it) but it sure does suck when you put up the binos and fog, walk a bit harder, fog. Sit and breathe, fog. Now with Covid and a mask, fog fog fog.
I am at the point where the contacts are as strong as they can get. But they don't account for the stigmatism. So when wearing them for sledding, I now have to carry a pair of cheap readers from the drug store so I can see up close like a cell or the GPS when we stop. Brutal irony. My eye doc says they have contacts to correct stigmatism now but they are expensive. Maybe she can get me a couple pairs to try lol.
I have worn glasses since gr 9, don't mind them 95% of the time. Although Laser surgery has come a long way, I don't want to take the chance it "may" make it worse. My big fear is screwing up my night driving.

I had Lasik in 1997 for exactly the reason described in the first post. Best money I ever spent. 23 years later and no issues, no problems. Night vision is fine, street lights sometimes look like fuzz balls no other issues. I can read the bedside clock when I get up, I can lie in bed and see the stars at night, I can wear cool sunglasses now, bino's and spotting scope are easier to use, my eyeballs don't get finger prints on them and don't fog up after walking up that stupid hill on warm winter days, no issues in the hot tub or swimming pool and don't have to worry about losing my glasses or breaking them when I'm in the back country. No need to get a new $500 pair every couple of years.
I could go on but you get the point. Investigate the Lasik.

I have been wearing contacts for many decades. Wouldn’t go hunting without them.
Biggest issue lately is the presbyopia- been trying the bifocal lenses as well as wearing a weaker lens in one eye, but I get eye fatigue with either system, especially at the end of the day. So, for the drive home, I throw out my contacts (disposable ones I use for travelling) and wear my glasses for the evening. I take my glasses off when using the phone etc.
Seriously considering laser surgery. Just cautious because I don’t want to mess up my eyes, they, along with my fingers, are my money makers.

Yep, I did mine in 1998, need reading glasses for up close stuff but generally my distance vision is still pretty good. No more fogging up glasses when you come indoors, etc.

Lasik
Got new lens put in both eyes! Best thing I have ever done! a little costly, but when you take a couple eye glasses purchase. It's not that bad! And I can never get cataracts. Best yet!

Lasik
Had Lasik about 8 years ago and to this day I do not regret a single cent of what it cost. By far the best money I ever spent on myself. Now that I am 55 I do need to put on reading glasses to work within a foot of my face but from there out is still great.

Prk laser surgery. Follow the healing instructions with the drops every day. Did the healing drops for about 7 months. Went from 5/20 and 10/20 with astigmatism in each eye to better than 20/20 (25/20) and no problems with dry eyes or night halos. Best life improvement money can buy.

My eyes are too dry for contacts and lasik scares me soooo.... I deal with it and wear glasses. Dry rub dishwashing soap on your glasses lenses to help with fogging up, and I always keep a microfibre cloth with me to wipe off any excess water or snow off my lenses. Works but can still be a pain wearing glasses, especially riding an atv in the cold with a helmet

Get a scuba mask with a prescription window. U.S. Diver yellow would be my suggestion.
I have no idea if it would be better than glasses but I'd start hunting your area for laughs if i knew there was a chance I'd run into you. Could probably get a small battery operated wiper blade installed for cheap. The fish lips effect might be an attractant to some deer.
Clip a snorkel on. Fill with Crown. Learn controlled sipping.

Likely the quickest and most cost effective solution would be a half decent pair of prescription safety glasses. They will provide significantly better side vision than regular daily life glasses, and you can get pretty good anti fog stuff for them. Plus, that one time you walk into a branch, your not going to take it to the eyeballs.
I wear prescription safety glasses at work, outside, all winter long in all conditions and can confidently say that I never have issues with vision obstruction due to fog on the glasses.

Anti-fog spray on your glasses. At least that's what I read on the internet once. Must work.
