Default Honest thoughts on a .223 AI?

Hi: I have an extra .222 Rem in a Rem 700 action. Just wondering if anyone has a .223 AI in their inventory and if it would be a good idea to chamber the .222R into the .223 AI? I know that the .222 barrel will have a bit of a slow twist but I think it would still stabilize the 55 gr. bullet even with the extra velocity. Anyhow just looking for opinions, good bad or ugly.

Thanks

- Sightron rifle scopes, 4.5x14x42mm or 4x16x42mm
especially! with the HHR reticle. (no duplex pls.)
- older 6x fixed scopes with fine X or target dot.

Have it rechambered to a 221 Fireball

You won't regret it :

My 1:14 twist Anschutz .222 stabilizws 55's okay, so the .223AI should have no issues .
I'm not sure how much velocity gain there would be over a standard .223, but it sounds like a fun project!

The 221 is a fun one. I have no idea how many gophers I shot with mine before my son claimed it.
There is an issue with ejection using a rechambering an 700 to 221. The cartridge is so short you can have ejection issues. It drops the case off the extractor before it clears the breech. Remington change the location on factory 221 s extractors to eliminate that problem
