Default Off Shore Oil: BC's Solution

BC is blessed with an abundance of off shore oil running from the south tip of Vancouver Island all the way to the Queen Charlotte Basin.

BC's Premier is saying that a reduction of supply from Alberta is unconstitutional, but all they have to do is complete and produce their off shore oil, and refine it in BC??? The fact that Alberta as a supplier chooses to limit supply of a FINITE RESOURCE does not in any way threaten BC.

BC has more oil then they can ever imagine. They also have a Refinery in the lower mainland, which can be expanded.

Given these obvious facts, why does Premier Hooligan make threats of a Court Action against Alberta?

They can have their cake, and eat it too!

It may be more convenient to just leave the pollution and consequences in Alberta, but that does not deny the fact that BC has the means and resources to solve their own current problems.

Makes sense. Off shore oil is pretty easy to find and cheap to get to. Also, not much for environmental concerns there...

I don't really get the logic/theory/reasoning behind "we aren't going to let you build a pipeline through BC to transport oil to tidewaters" but "turning off a pipeline through BC transporting oil to tidewaters is unconstitutional".

If one is unconstitutional, aren't they both unconstitutional?

There’s just one problem. The Feds have had a drilling moratorium in place off the west coast for over 45 years. Guess who started that ball rolling with OICs and legislation.......yup Pierre Trudeau. You don’t seriously think Jr, trudeau is going to reverse a decision the man who raised him made, do you?

East coast as well and in Quebec.....If you think the Liberals under PET were not planning this many years ago you would be wrong. Any time those upity western provinces get a little bit ahead we will slap them to the curb cause, us folk in Ottawa likes our power and we will do whatever we have too to keep it....
