Predator,
Thanks for the read, seems to me that the issues seem to be with the 6.5-06 ackley improved and not the straight 6.5-06 itself. I've been shooting the rifle for 9 years now and haven't had any problems with bulging in the brass.
I am using .270 shell casings.
My father is using 30.06 out of his 6.5-06 not sure if it is the Swdish m96 though.
The shells chamber perfectly fine and don't seem too long for the gun, the gunsmith even told me the 140gr are pushing 3000fps.
That is the one thing i do love about this gun is how fast and flat it does shoot.
I have dropped a deer at 650yds dead in it's tracks.(won't even attempt a shot like that again!!)
Maybe i'll keep her around for sentimental value, i do love the versatility as i comfortably shoot deer, moose and elk all with great success.
Anyways thanks for the insight, i've always hunted but because of this site i'm starting to be more and more curious of the guns i own!! Maybe that comes with age
