You have a better boss than I. Someone overheard me mention shotgun and got called from HR. Now have to explain why I said it. I like clay pigeon, skeet shooting. Some people need to mind their own business. GEEZE

This sounds like an opportunity to reverse the situation and claim you are being harassed by HR citing sport shooting, owning firearms are perfectly legal in Canada.
The insinuation that you, somehow, present a risk, condone violence is deeply offensive to you and you want to be compensated for the damage to your reputation and for harassment you are enduring.
Woke HR people need to be brought back into line.
