Default Fishing Between Edson and Robb on Mcleod River

My brother and I are planning to take our father out on a fishing trip and we landed on possibly renting a cabin off Hwy 47. Dad loves catching walleye and McLeod sounds like it has that and much more. We are outfitted properly with waders and such, so my question is if anyone can point us to some spots that are vehicle accessible along Hwy 47. Don't mind driving and I heard about Big Eddy just outside Edson there.

Also we have a canoe, should i bring it? I'm not familiar with this river at all.

Thanks for the help!!!!

Downstream of Edson is packed with walleye. I fished it last summer. Very walleye-y.

I caught a couple nice Brookies by Rob a few years back, not sure if that's normal or not... but yeah, upstream of Edson is more of a coldwater fishery in my experience.

30 years ago I fished a part of the McLeod upstream of hwy 16 on the way to robb. The creek was so clear I didn't think a fish could hide but lo and behold the first cast caught me my first grayling. About 12 to 14 inches long and near a lb.. The only and only bite in an hour. The river had too much riparian brush growth to explore much where i was.
