Default Sierra Gamechanger

I tried some of the 130 gr Sierra Gamechangers today, and I was impressed. I could seat them to the lands, and the entire case neck was still in contact will the bullet shank. I had to seat the Accubond LR .100" off of the lands to maintain .200" of bullet shank in the case neck. It was my first outing with the rifle, so no fine tuning on the load, but my worst group was still only 5/8" with the best 5/16" at 100m. I paid around $47 per 100 for the Gamechangers, so they are quite affordable as well.

Did you use a Game King load as a base for comparison or work up fresh?

I started at the minimum charge weight for 130gr bullets in the Sierra data, and loaded three charge weights in 1 grain increments. Now I will work up from there in 1/2 grin increments, and try varying the seating depth slightly.

Yes it was. So far, I am pleased with the rifle, although a flush five round magazine would be a nice option.

As much as I hated to, I bought them from X-reload. I couldn't find them elsewhere. I bought the last box of 100, and just bought another 200 in boxes of 50.

Early Nov I picked up boxes of both 6mm/90gr and 6.5mm/130gr from Cabellas. Neither grouped as well as I wanted in my 6 Dasher or 6.5 X 47L hunting rigs so I did not go back for seconds.

Think western munitions/ metal has them in too.

Hold on I'll go look

Hmmm. Maybe not. They did just get a large Sierra order in a bit ago.

I finished my load development today, with a five shot sub 3/8" group at 110 yards.

R-17, Nosler case, 210M primer. H4350 was slower, and not quite as accurate.

Why the animosity to x-reload? Past negative experience?

I was going to place an order there based on a good selection of the items I need.

The service is good, I just hate spending my money in Quebec. I buy local, if I can find the products to purchase.

Just wanted to bump this thread to see if anyone has any experience with on game performance with the 6.5mm 130gr now that I have a 6.5mm in the works.

I have read they have a thicker jacket than standard game kings.

My reading is that the standard tipped gameking gamechanger would make these like the 120gr 7mm and 180gr .308 nosler ballistic tips that have exceptionally thicker jackets than others in the line.

I Use them in a 270 win, 140gr, this is one that was used on a red stag, travelled nearly 3 ft. Approximately 150yd shot. They shoot as well as the game kings and just as easy to find a good load I found.
