Default Hail In NW Calgary Today

Holy smokes, did she ever put on a show today. Stampede starts......wild weather starts.

Here's a quick vid we shot coming in on highway one from the west this aftenoon. We were about 15 minutes late to get the brunt of it, and were shocked to see how many vehicles were pulled off to the side. Buddy in front of my dumped his Harley trying to pull off. Got soaked helping him out....not as soaked as him though!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dd6PDQL__a4&feature=plcp

Here's some pics from the house. Poor plants took a chitter.

Hopefully everyone is safe as the cells escalated. Any pics to share, post 'em here.

It's not really an official AO weather-watch video unless somebody audibly farts in it

Farts fit right in as AO does have the ugliest weather reporters on the internet.

Here's what is left of our garden in the backyard....

I drove after the storm to check on our trailer at COP. Took crowchild to stoney, and there were a few spots where you could see piled up hail, but our subdivision looked worse off.

The sad part is...this might be the first normal Alberta summer we've had in years.
It sure has been a bear in some parts.

Courier had to sit at Finning and wait 20min for it to quit tonite, fella said his place in Rundle got nothing, my place got it, I'm straight east of Finning.
Pup thought the leftover hail on the lawn was neat, never seen it before.

Man did that storm hit fast and hard. We are in Dalhousie in the NW. The hail knocked off a bunch of pine cones and needles from the pine trees out front and along with the huge hail it ended up plugging my eavestrough down spout on the house. Had to get up there after the storm with the water hose and wash the crap away. Then the water came down the pipe and out like a rocket.

In a way, Rob, you almost perfectly described the gastro-intestinal process that camp lasagna creates.

I sure hope you don't use a hose to clear out your system though.

My brother was on crow child up north comin back from work (crowfoot village Honda) and he said that he thought his car was going to be a write off. He thought for sure his car would get messed up by the hail. Good thin they seed the clouds around here

Wow, we seem to miss 90% of the bad storms in Cochrane that hit Calgary. I wonder if it has to do with the timing of their seeding the clouds or what.

Glad to be in Red Deer handling claims Calgary is going to be crazy.

I think we are going to get hit with something nasty with this heat wave we have coming.
