Default How to make my hemi sound better

So I want to make my truck sound more muscle carish and louder, not I'm 16 years old and got my first truck now let's straight pipe it loud, but I want it have a deep rumble not that sharp bark, but this turn a head or two when I accelerate. Any suggestions, or experience? I tried watching some YouTube videos of different models but the sound quality on most isn't great.

I'm going to pull the muffler tomorrow and try it with just the resonator but I'm thinking it won't sound good

Flowmaster Super 40 cat back system sounds awesome so does the 50 series but if it has the mds system to shut it down to 4 cylinders buy a diablosport tuner to bypass it so its always running on 8 cylinders and it will sound way better. The Super 40 muffler is one of the loudest and best sounding mufflers I would recommend but thats just my preference

magnaflow 14" the magnas are nice they dont drone at all( I've found flowmasters tend too) you really only hear them under acceleration or load.

It's a 2500 so no mds to deal with. Just hooked the computer to some better speakers and the flowmaster 40 seems to be the best sounding. But after reading a lot of reviews most recommend magnaflow because they are stainless, bit if the rest of my exhaust isn't stainless I.dont see the point in buying a stainless muffler.

I always thought a Trush muffler was the best "go faster" sound.

Ooooopppsss.... wrong decade. That was 1969.

When I had my f150, I had a 4 inch exhaust put on straight back from the catylitic and performance muffler. Had quite the rumble but after a couple yrs I had to go with a diff muffler, just had enough of the load drone. Wanted a quieter ride.

x3

magnaflows are the cleanest sounding mufflers hands down.

quiet idle and deep rumble when you get into it a bit....no highway drone

fartmasters sound like junk...might as well just put a 20 dollar bottle on it from muffler shop.

This last weekend my wife and I enjoyed the sound of a deafening truck that we could hear for blocks. I think my wife said "Oh, what a man! He must have a huge %#$@. I want him NOW!" I can't be sure however as my ears were still ringing. LOL

Ooops - wrong century and wrong decade.
The hemi was a by product of 1940's aircraft engine technology and made it into production vehicles in the early 1950's.
If Chrysler lasts another 38 years the hemi will be a hundred years old.

The dual factory exhaust on a camed up, dual quad 426 hemi from the late 1960's is the sound you want.

Sorry dude, you'll never get that sound from your 5.7 Mexican Hemi.

Jim

Get the 40 series and put a cold air intake on as well! People seem to forget that more exaust out needs more air in as well!

To make it sound better turn key counter clockwise until the rumbling stops...

I really hate the loud exhaust thing.... especially when people spend money to do it...

Just straight pipe it and be done....save your money for the tickets...

Baaahaaaa. Love it.

My BIL is kind of like the OP. Everything has to be loud. Told him he would hate my new truck. Got the 2012 ecoboost. Damn is that thing quiet and I LOVE IT. Can listen to the radio or I can talk with a passenger without yelling. I guess once its too loud you really are too old.

Is it true that when blow the pipes as loud as you can it actually makes your "unit" bigger...?
