Camping Hotspots in Alberta's Lakeland
Although camping season seems a long way off it will be here before you can say smores! So, check out Alberta's Lakeland Region for your next camping adventure. The Lakeland has some of the best camping spots in the province with a mix of remote rustic locations and developed campsites that have all the modern amenities to make your time in the outdoors perfect. Moose Lake offers excellent camping right on the shores of the lake. The sites offer power hook ups and easy access to fantastic walleye fishing and is only a short distance from the championship Bonnyville Golf Course. A more remote camping trip can be had at the beautiful Siebert Lake campsite which offers remote camping and tenting areas that abound with wildlife and excellent fishing. Trophy pike being the number one draw to the area. A short drive from Siebert lies the well run Pinehurst Lake campsite. This lake is famous for its excellent walleye fishery and the campground has sites for both tenting and the largest RVs which makes it a perfect location for a week long stay. A hidden gem in the Lakeland is a campsite located between Bonnyville and Cold Lake. Moore Lake is a little community in itself during summer and has several top quality sites around the lake. Your biggest decision may be where to set up your RV for your summer fun . The lake offers a general store with all your camping supplies, excellent swimming and water skiing and awesome fishing with the dock by the main store being a hotspot for information. Not to be left out, Cold Lake offers some of the best camping spots anywhere in the province. The Cold Lake Provincial Park offers a mix of tenting and developed RV sites that are set in the heart of the boreal forest with well developed shower and bathroom facilities available. The campground also has one of the best sand beaches on the lake . The crown jewel of the Lakeland is the MD of Bonnyville campsite located right in the City of Cold Lake. This campground has full power and water hookups along with a beautiful stretch of beach that is more like a beach in a tropical location than the heart of Alberta's Lakeland. The beach is perfect for pulling your boat up to shore after a great morning of fishing for the giant lake trout that inhabit the lake and have a quick lunch and perhaps a nap before fishing the rest of the day away. Remember book your site early as they fill up fast. Go online to make your reservation and ensure a spot at one of these Lakeland region campsites. Alberta's Lakeland - come for the day and stay for a lifetime.
