There pretty hard to find.
I have had my draw in 406 four times out of eight years and connected once.
Get as far off the road as you can, I was 18 KM back.

where abouts were you in 406 hawken?

If I'm correct you can shoot a cow aswell as a 6 pointer during bow season.

bow season is antlered or antlerless , I grew up hunting 406 and have spent close to twenty years in there hunting .. If your looking to just hunt elk I would definatley try some where with a greater population . If you do decide to hunt elk there like hawken said , you will definatley have to get way way back .. The granola crunchers have pushed a lot of those animals deep into the mountains .. Which is too bad cause there is alot of nice country in there ..

Thats interesting.... some years ago I was guiding in 406. I had spent 10 years guiding elk hunters in BC and thought I'd seen some great elk action. In 406, first hunt, we had 7, six point bulls comming in. All within 1 mile of the hiway. The further we went back, the less elk we saw. By far the best elk hunting I've been in.

Last year I watched a decent bull right from the truck and you could hear the Elk bugling like crazy right from the morning to the evening. We were sheep hunting and saw lots of Elk in the morning back aways off the road. The Elk are there you just have to put some miles on the boots.
