Exclamation Called In A Wolf Last Night.....

Was sittin at a favorite remote spot with my dog ,having a beer and doin the camp fire thing.( We go there lots just to get away) and could here wolves way off in the distance.I had just given my black lab crap earlier in the day for chewin up my elk call (it was in peices from him using it as his chew toy...)
Anyway it was late 12:45am and thought maybe I could get a response by blowing in what was left of the reed.It worked .I brought in a huge black wolf to probably 12 yards. We have a staring contest for what seemed like a couple of min.All my dog did was stand on point (no leash)...Very cool experience.

calling wolves can be a real blast. We get a few every year this way. Lots of fun and a good way to spend fall and winter days.

Pretty cool.
Did you have your axe or your pellet gun for backup?

Probably a good thing your dog stayed, where he was
