Default Silver or black?

Which do you prefer the rings and bases to be on a stainless rifle with a black scope?

Chuck on that gun I like the black rings and bases. I think every gun is a little different. How about this combo on your gun..... SS bases and Matte rings?

Not even close for me, black rings and bases looks better. SS washes out to much. First pic is nice all the way. Fence, mountain and cloud front with new growth on the ground. Good choice of stock color instead of the usual matte
black too.

matte black for sure. when stainless guns first hit the market i swore id never own one. they were polished like chrome and ugly as heck (at least the early guns i saw were). they sure have come a long way. stainless scopes are still pretty hideous to me though. thats a sweet lookin rig chuck, but how come the bolt is on the wrong side?

I might go stainless bases, but black matte rings on a matte scope every time.

What ever your fancy is. Out of the two pics, I like the matte.

I have a Sako m75ss with black Sako Optilock rings and bases with a matte black Leupold. I have 2 other Sako m75ss rifles with matte Leupold scopes and Stainless Optilock rings and bases. I have two Tikka T3 LS rilfes with stainless Optilocks and a matte Leupold and the other with a silver Leupold scope. I have a couple Sako m75 Greywolf rifles with Leupold gunmetal grey scopes, one mounted in stainless Optilocks rings and bases and the other in Optilock ringmounts powdercoated to match the scope.

The stainless mounts go good with the laminate stocks.

I like the black rings on a black scope. As far as the bases go either would work for me.

They both look good as long as you stay away from a silver scope!!

I agree with you. the silver scope seems to detract from the lines of the weapon.
BTW chuck, the one on the post-pod gets my nod

I have the silver bases/rings on my Sako's and matte talleys on my Rem700...so either is fine depending on the rifle. I don't like it when guys use silver bases then matte rings
