I'm heading out for the first time myself early next week. I was going to hit Eagle River myself - wait for comments as well.

Don't have a ton of experience out there but I checked out the eagle river right around sicamous and it wasn't particularly fishable without a boat, upstream a ways seemed to look at least moreso accessible. Right around the lake it slowed right down and was almost an extension of the lake and there wasn't a riverbank to walk up, devils club and thick bush put that idea to rest quickly

I was there back on July 1st & 2nd... water levels were high and I found the Eagle River to be hard to access for fly fishing as Slough Shark states above. I ended up walking/wading Yard Creek (a tributary of the Eagle River located 16km North of Sicamous on Hwy 1). It was a decent creek with some nice pools and I was able to catch a few 7" - 8" rainbows. Not sure what it would be like now that the water level is likely lower though. Parking on the side of the road at Yard Creek and hiking down to the Eagle may be a good place to wade into the Eagle with lower water levels. Good Luck!

Are you talking about the campground Yard Creek? I cant see the creek itself on a map. It must be on the north side of Hwy 1 correct?

Yard Creek passes under Hwy 1 near Yard Creek Provincial Park and flows into the Eagle River. You will see some small Yellow Fish signs (salmon spawning notices) on the bridge on Hwy 1 as you pass over it. If you take the side road (Malawka Road that parallels hwy 1) and park there, you can walk down to Yard Creek and then hike northwest to where it meets the Eagle River. Bring up Google or Bing Maps and switch to aerial photo and you will see it pretty plainly on the image.

I gave scotch Creek a try last weekend, caught a couple very small rainbows and some nice whitefish. I wasn't as high upriver as the falls, are there more rainbows up there?
