Post How Big is your Ammo Stash?

Going through the safe today and decided to tally up my ammo stash, got me thinking as to how much was normal to store lol. Out of curiosity, how much loaded ammo do you guys have? Including rimfire, centerfire, shotgun, whatever. Not sure if this has been done before, didn't find it in search. I seem to be sitting on just over 10000 rounds, mostly rimfire. How bout y'all?

Given the volume of shells in a case or two of 22 shells, the numbers could definately be easily swayed eh...just thinkin' :-)

Lol 5000 rounds could mean 200 bucks in cheap .22 ammo

I just got finished two weeks of bear guiding. The Americans were inquiring about the availability of ammo in Canada. They said gun owners in the States were worried about changes to the laws on purchasing ammo and almost all available ammunition had been bought up. They said it was even very difficult to buy 22 shells. They were going to look into shipping themselves some ammo from here.

Usually over 1k rounds of .223 & .45acp, that is dwindling tho, took a bud out last month who just got his RPAL, we went through 800 rounds of 45 and 500 .223 in the AR,time to stock up agin. Hava a few cartons of .17 with no gophers to shoot, usually just keep a hundred or so each of rifle ammo.

I've got currently about 7 cases of 12 gauge hunting rounds. 3-500 9mm rounds, 150-200 22-250 rounds, 100-150 223 rounds, 30 300 win rounds, 30 300 weatherby rounds, 30 270 wsm rounds, 30 270 win rounds, 50 410 gauge rounds, 45 30-06 rounds.
No crazy stock piles but still enough to keep me busy + a lot of reloading supplies to make more!!

Default I have enough to make the CBC national news

Gunowner found with over 1500 rounds of ammunition!

3 bricks of .22 shells + 200 rounds of CF for various guns

It sounds better in a headline

Not a lot of ammo on hand, but buckets and barrels of brass, and many custom case forming dies.

I keep at least a 100 round float for each CF rifle I own. Probably twice that for shotguns, and way more for rimfire.

Not that much loaded stuff, most of that is rimfire (17, 22)

Now for loading components(bullets, powder, primers, casings, shot, wads, hulls), well lets just say I'm good for more than a couple years/ firearm!

BTW, I never voted, for more than a few reasons, the first couple being your question is far to ambiguous and poorly designed.

Come on 5000 rounds of rimfire is only 10 bricks, or a case if you please.

The damned cyclical nature of ammo and components and the quest for repeatable results drives far to many serious and semi serious shooters to purchase in bulk to stave off drought and maintain quality.

That sounds about right. I usually reload whenever I have about 50 empty casings to maintain about that amount.

Oh. well I listed the criteria for my curiosities fairly clearly, how many pulls of a trigger does the average shooter have in store? Not rocket science lol, you don't have to answer if you don't want.

6 flats of assorted waterfowl ammunition, 3 boxes of 22-250, a box of 410, 2 boxes of .270, a box of slugs, 3 boxes of buck shot, 200 or so rounds of .17, and maybe 4000 rounds of rim fire stuff. Ish.

Default Well I dont really know

I dont really know the smallest round count I have on hand for 1 gun is 300 rounds of 338 Lapua and the most would have to be more than I care to mention and with ammo in storage for every gun I own and enough components to keep me loading for a straight week I have enough.
