Default Bore Guide for Sako 85 in 30-06

Hi, I spent some time at WSS today trying to find a Dewey bore guide to fit my Sako 85 in 30-06. We couldn't find one. We measured the bolt diameter to be ~.630", but the Dewey SL-3 model (Sako Long Action) is for .675" bolt diameters, which was too big. The SM-3 version (Sako Medium Action) is for .590" bolt diameters and it seemed too loose.

Does anyone have a Sako 85 in 30-06 (or similar) and use a Dewey bore guide? Which model do you use? What's your bolt diameter?

You could order one from Sinclair International, they will have what your looking for. They make bore guides for just about every rifle out there and they will ship to Canada. The last ones I bought where Lucas bore guides (for a Sako and a Cooper) but Mike Lucas said these would be the last ones, as he would no longer be shipping to Canada.

from the website.. "Adjustable position sliding collar for bolt actions works with most centerfire rifles. Fits bolt diameters .695" or larger."

My bolt is .630", so it appears this bore guide wouldn't work for my bolt diameter. But you also said it works in your 30-06. I wonder if there's a chance our guns have a different bolt diameter. If you have the chance, maybe you could check your bolt diameter to see if ours are the same.

Best bore guides are made by Lucas. Otherwise, call Possom Hollow direct and he will ship it to you direct.
