If it’s any solace we said the much the same thing about many Oilers as well in years past. You can see this team has learned from their other years series first round losses and this years round with the kings.
Hyman, Kane and Foegele type grinders were exact lying what the Oilers lacked.
What works in playoff hockey is completely different then regular season. Oilers have been a bunch of peripheral skill boys for the last 2-3 seasons as well til this year.
I’m not sure Mcdavid even landed a hit when they lost to Winnipeg? This year he is almost leading the team in the hits department as well as the points.
In years past Drai wasn’t back checking now he is.

Everyone talking about Mcdavid getting the OT winner but Drai knew he was out of time and still made the pass knowing he was in a vulnerable spot and ended up hitting the ice basically nose first to make that play happen,

The flames had an insane year and they will learn play off hockey and when they do watch out.

We Oilers fans know what it’s like to watch a team get outworked very very well. That’s why it’s so exciting to finally see some toughness as well. We are still pretty weak on D, havent recovered from losing Klefbom and Larsson. Especially Larsson.

Or is this just the case of facing an explosive team clicking at the right time?
I'm not suggesting I know more about hockey than Sutter, but I'd love to hear the explanation on a few things:

-Markstrom's SA% in the last six games against the Oilers was something like .839, .857, .840, .882, .875, and .786 with a GAA hovering around 4. Essentially, the Flames aren't winning unless you score 5. Team game, yes, is it all Markstroms fault, absolutely not, but why not put in/start Vladar. Might disrupt the Oilers slightly with a new look, might spark the team a bit, maybe Vladar just flat out plays better, etc. The worst you're going to do is lose, which they did anyway....

-Three goals in 31 seconds..... Seems like there is a bit of running around going on, maybe call a time out;

-Why not shake up the lines? The team was flat, completely unmotivated, like after Round 1 they realized they weren't getting paid anymore. If they were playing like that in the regular season there was no hesitation to sit guys, shake up the lines, bring in Ruzicka, etc. Playoffs, we're getting killed, lets not change a thing.

The entire round was quite confusing. Just like well, we reached Round 2, nobody thought we'd even make the playoffs so, good enough, lets pack it in.

Sutter lost this one plain and simple, oilers had Markstromes number and he should not have played the game a few nights ago, let the oilers see a different goalie and a more motivated team but Sutter did too little too late.

Ohhh well they are joining my Canucks at the lake, golf and country club.

Well that was a mess if you're a Flames fan.
