Not that I'm saying Trump was directly responsible for the plateauing but for clarity here are the dates. Trump had already complete 78.4% of his term by the time the pandemic was officially declared by the WHO. The rates weren't rising during this period of his term.

I’ve noticed a good many who supported covid shots adamantly also hated Trump adamantly.
Just an observation.

They will staunchly protest otherwise, their news source/opinion is the correct one, even if contrary evidence is staring them straight in the face, but it seems the media has swayed a significant number of people. The media generally don't like Trump, doesn't like Poilievre, and strongly prompt the shot.

One thing I am hopeful for positively benefitting Canada is the swinging of the pendulum back to more traditional values and common sense, and away from the woke mind virus that seems to have even affected members of AO. It is a real condition, make no mistake, and it has so negatively affected the western world. As the US goes, so does most of the world. The head run that Trump will have in the US will serve to provide a precedent for Poilevre when it is his turn to run a majority government, and he has a chance to turn back the clock from the craziness we have all experienced under that rotten, no good bastard child of Castro. Remind yourself of just how lunatic society has become, and you will realize just how much room there is for a truly conservative leader to change things back to sane, normal policies.

PP needs to keep the message of affordability at the front of his campaign. Followed by the question are your better off today than you were 10 years ago.

Well said, it's a shame so many people , including some right here on AO, are not capable of comprehending this.
I have no use for Trump as a person , he says stupid things, and he offends people, but when it comes right down to it, the world can't afford the alternative. We can't let the WEF and the globalists take control of the world, so the Democrats and Liberals/ndp can't be left in charge

Agree, keep giving Turdo rope, he and his cabinet will use it wisely to catch themselves in the noose.
With all the lefties in the U.S crying the blues that Trump won so handily, will that scare the lefties here and make them step back from how much they hate Turdo these days, hold their noses and vote him back in, just to prevent a PP majority like Trump got? Sure hope not.

They are scared of everything, freedom included.
If we don't take chances, we can't win at life.
They are scared of everything and won't live a life worth living, but yet they don't want anyone else to live a real life either.
Liberals wreck everything, but they are hard to get rid off. They don't like us but they don't want to live without us either.

My observations too. I grew up in a farming/fishing/hunting community and now every day shake my head at the lefties on here who just can't get a grasp on reality, will ask for clarification, turn a deaf ear and just keep on arguing. There were some lefties that were in our community back in the 50's and 60's but they were die hard commies who spent their time blabbing away as to how great it was back in the old country and it was very obvious why because they had no work ethic. I thought that would pass over time but instead its increasing. Lefties enjoy the freedom that many paid their life for in the past wars, but it is obvious when they are in power that they would never grant that same freedom to others, and that is the glaring difference. History repeating itself.

Lifetime Conservative voter here who lives rural. A couple questions reading this thread
Are conservatives able to be friends with those who are not? What about family who do not share the same views? Should the outdoors be only for conservatives? I ve used this before but does my conservative vote count as much if I don’t have a Trump and Smith tattoo?
I am pleased with the direction our province is turning right now and optimistic of a future with PP. I am concerned with the trend for people to have to be on the far left or the far right. There are allot of good rationale people I know that are more in the middle and it seems that each side rejects those that are not “all in” enough.

You can thank the governments of the world for this. It used to be ok if people didn’t agree on everything and people were fine with that. In today’s world, if you don’t agree with something, you are black balled. It’s pathetic actually!

I actually don't have any friends that vote liberal or ndp, most own firearms, and support oil&gas, and hate Trudeau/Singh. I do have relatives on one side of the family that are liberal/ndp supporters, but I rarely associate with them, as we have no interests in common. And when we do associate, they know better than to complain about fuel prices, taxes or inflation, because they get reminded that the people that they vote for are responsible.

I can't wait to see what comes bubbling to the surface once Trump starts digging into a few things.
Like the last election, for example...

I definitely can’t be friends with people that follow a leader that calls me racist, misogynistic and a Nazi because of the party I support. As part of the fringe minority I have become more intolerant of the left because of how they have treated me.
I used to just shut up and walk away when I disagreed with someone but now I realize that is what the left wants the right to do. So I will no longer be silent.
I’ve realized that if you give the left an inch they try to take it all.
As for the middle, well they can sit on the fence if that makes them happy but I won’t be silent if I disagree with them either.

The USA dodged a Socialist bullet and Canada needs to do so as well! If you need a reminder why "socialism/communism" are not the best for your health, watch a series on Netflix called "turning points"
And never forget that only 19% of firearms owners in The USA vote. I can only imagine how low our numbers are here in Canada.

I would point out that most people were very approving of Trumps Warp Speed initiative that fast tracked mRNA vaccines that helped turn around the strain on hospitals.
In fact Trump led the charge and he himself was vaccinated as well as Melania. He also got his boosters.
So anyone discussing Covid has to acknowledge his incredible foresight in his proactive support of vaccines.
But maybe some forget these facts?
Trump… the King of Covid Vaccinations.

The way to turning Canada around should be in following what happened in the US.
It appears that the youth in the US has seen that money and prosperity goes hand in hand and debt and reduced net income and spending power due to inflation is bad.
That jobs are critical and that government jobs growing in the employment of the country is a drag on GDP.
What both countries seem to fail at still is that bad deficits and bad debt is a burden that 20 year olds today will be struggling with down the road.
