What did you do in your reloading room today?

Loaded some 105 ELDM's for the 6mmBR last night and some 147 Wasp FMJ's for the 308 Palma rifle last night, then spent all day out at the range today having fun!

I have some ELDM's in my 6mmBR lineup as well.
I really enjoy shooting the 6BR, I think it is my favorite. Zero recoil laser beam.

It's the easiest cartridge I load for , even easier than the 308!
I will certainly build another in time.

Working up a load for a new to me rifle, Cooper 6.5-284 with a new Jury barrel.

New Lapua brass, Fed 210GM, H4831SC, 140 VLD-H.

This is the first time I've tried loading and shooting a ladder, I'm liking what I see so far. Stopped at 51.5 which is .4 above Bergers max data, but I think there's room for more. I'm not seeing the speeds I was expecting yet.

Trim, deburr & chamfer, and neck brush 200 x 223 Rem brass. Then primed them.

I have one and a ton of brass so this is extra, actually it is more for the packaging as they are the old Winchester boxes and brass.

Second step in development of 80gr Berger FB Varmints for Tikka M595 .243.

15 Round ladder loaded up, and the first time I'm trying to color the bullets. Some of the colors are similar, and some I can't see on the brass, but I tried putting it on 'as thick' as possible.

Got to thinking after I finished, might need to be wet and fresh for it to be effective? Has anyone ever tried this?

Personally I would just use 2 ammo boxes with stickies to the inside of the lid showing each row with different loads, that is how I do mine. You can also look at your brass more carefully once you get home for any danger signals as well. As long as you put them back in the same order as you shot them.

The purpose of the colors is to see where each load impacts the target, tracking the shots as the charge increases. (the color rubs off on the target) Another method would be to set up a go-pro or similar, to video the impacts. I don't have such a device, so I'm trying the color method.

That's an interesting and different way to do it for sure.
I just check each shot and log it , whether I am using a spotting scope or my bullseye target cam

I have done that in the past. Some colors show up better then others. I just use a spotter and a second target now. I mark on the second target my shots after i take them.

I still color the tips like that though just so I know what's what in my reloading box when i have a lot of different loads.

Just looking at your colors in think your going to have a hard time telling what's what after. Every color will be mixed with a bit of black around the edges. High contrasting colors work better, blue, red, black, no color, green, pink. Different color blues will all look very close.

put 300 together for one buddy; 2800 or so to go for the other 3 of us.

Yes, very likely. My first time trying, throwing everything at it just to see what works and what doesn't. I've since read that easy to read colors can be mixed in different combinations as well.

I would do solid colors then half black and half a different color like you said.

In my reloading room I began developing a ladder test for 129gr .270 LRX

Going to try H4831SC (mainly because I have it)

Going to begin at the minimum charge of 54.5

Tomorrow will try to figure out where a compressed load charge begins in my cases with H4831SC - I will end my ladder slightly below that value.

I am new to reloading and want to avoid compressed loads for now at least.

Will begin at 0.050 off the lands for now and will play with the seating depth at a later time

Last night and this morning I loaded up the last 100 of my 223 rounds for this season, well maybe. I really enjoy using the RCBS competition die set(new to me), the window on the seater die makes setting the bullets very easy especially with the small calibers. I also liked using Area419 aluminum reloading block that is specific to cartridge. Brass is held firmly in place with almost no wobble, a very solid block. A kernel of powder can lock your brass into the block pretty good if one gets in between the brass and the block. Now on to some brass prep.

I just finished up polishing some old .270 win Imperial brass. It turned not too bad considering the brass is from the early 70’s

Just did a batch of .243 win loads. 57 with 55 tipped varmagedon and cfe223 and 50 of 85 gamekings with h100v. All minimum charges for juniors first rifle. Hopefully they group ok at 50yd. He did ok with 100gr factory loads but didn't like the kick from his ruger compact.

If anyone has recommendations on light loads and short barrel. 243 i'm all ears.

I load the same for my .243 for coyotes, except I use varget with the 55 tipped varmagedons. Works wonders but I’m also doubling that rifle for a long range target rifle. Working up a load with 108 eldm at the moment. Sorry I’m no help for the short barrel loads, my two .243’s are 20” and 22”
