We are far worse off, we have two traitors to our country , destroying our country, to appease their WEF masters.

I'm curious how he'll handle Russia. I'm pretty sure Trump likes putin, and he doesn't mess around usually.
And didn't he say if moron jt ever stepped foot in the US he'd have him arrested?

Certainly a lot more questions than answers for the next few months. Hopefully we can have an election sooner than later. I think PP will probably get along with Trump better than Trudope. Pretty sure Trudope has never done anything to impress Trump in any good way.
Whatever Harris and Biden have to say today, will probably give some inkling of how the transition will go, they are in a precarious position with what they've said over the last while, as they'll have to convince their people it was all BS.
Still a lot of trash talk on the MSM down there. Is nice to see some of them eat crow. Whole bunch of people in DC will have to knuckle down and swallow their pride for the transition, some may cause some issues, would not surprise me.

During the last round of trade agreements the only two issues on the table from Ottawa were about climate and gender, we lost big time.

So you consistently point out that "TRUMP" is this evil figure but never mention the corruption of Biden and Harris and Obama et al...
So you vote NDP... which is Liberal in this country... They are the same...

So if Trump were what you say he is, why are the markets reacting so strongly this morning?

We’re already feeling the impact of Trudeau’s time in office—should we really have to deal with a U.S. president who puts personal interests above what’s best for diplomatic relations? With a Trump return, there’s a good chance his approach to Canada will be shaped more by his own agenda than by any real interest in a solid partnership. His track record suggests we could see more friction in trade, economic cooperation, and diplomacy, all based on his personal priorities rather than what actually benefits both countries.

Wishing harm on Canada and Canadians just because of a personal dislike for Trudeau seems pretty unpatriotic. It’s one thing to disagree with a leader, but wanting to see the country suffer over political differences is something else entirely. We should be focused on what’s best for our nation, not letting personal grudges dictate our future.

The Democrats are anti oil, anti industry, and are definitely not friendly to our economy, so I don't see Trump being any worse. And Trump being anti WEF, and not pursuing a green agenda, can only help us.
But I can certainly understand socialists hating Trump, as he is not for handouts, he is for people working to earn a living.

Both Harris and Trump (Trump moreso) were talking protectionism, so neither were good for Canada in that regard. But it's a moo 😁 point, why would they care about Canada, while going for the POTUS job.
One can be happy and sad about the same event for different reason... Dems (aka wokies) got their teeth kicked in so hard their buttholes look like they're smiling. But if (it rather when) Trump starts enacting his economic policies it's possible it'll be time to be sad. But yet again, this is "maybe" and in the future. Dems tears (and over already had my fill over last hour) are in the now and are so so sweet

I asked a question earlier that no one seems willing to answer. Can anyone explain how Trump will actually be good for Canada? Setting aside personal feelings about Trudeau, how will his protectionist policies benefit us? Implying that I must be a socialist for asking these questions is oversimplified and doesn’t address the actual question.

The mutual dislike that many Canadians and Trump have against Trudeau will ultimately harm the average Canadian. Personal grievances aside, it's everyday people who will bear the consequences, not Trudeau, who is already set for life.

Hopefully this curbs the woke socialist movement and even brings the democratically back to the middle. What an awful choice of a candidate Harris was. The border and economy cooked hee along with the woke ideology. Trump outsmarted her at every step and won it all. Remember the select few on her that’s said she won the debate….what was is and will
Never will be ha ha ha

I never implied that you were a socialist. I just asked you what our options are.

As for dealing with the US under a Trump administration, we deserve what we get. We've allowed this to happen to ourselves, and we are the only ones who can change that. Our current government couldn't care less than they already do about the average Canadian. We cannot expect the POTUS to care about our affordability. We need to take care of that ourselves.

I think the actual harm to Canada will depend on how our political leadership responds to the Trump win.

For one thing, and I think it was mentioned earlier in this thread, the USA will still need access to our resources, so, here in Alberta, we are in a position to participate in a beneficial way. Other provinces who sell electricity to the US will likely benefit as well.

Provinces who peddle in paper and politicians, well, maybe not so much.

Republican protectionist policies won't benefit Canada. How would Democrat protectionist policies benefit Canada?

The "everyday people" have been bearing the consequences for the last 10 years. I don't think the results of the US election will have a large impact one way or the other. Hopefully our next election will change things for the better.

Read my post, Trump isn't pushing an anti oil agenda, that is good for our oil industry, since we sell oil to the USA. Trump isn't anti industry, again good for Canada, since we supply resources. Trump isn't a WEF puppet, again good for Canada. Trump isn't pushing the green agenda, again good for Canada.

Look at it this way. Perhaps this is the kick in Canada's proverbial arse that was long overdue. Maybe Canada should be self-sufficient economically, militarily, and morally. Canada will indeed pay dearly for the very weak economic and moral policies that Trudeau and Singh have inflicted on us.

Alienating a massive trade partner like India for the sake of protecting his Khalistan buddies is such a massive failure on Trudeau-Singh. Even Biden wasn't that stupid. Trudeau turned Germany away when they came shopping for energy.

Perhaps PP will start us on a "Canada First" path forward. Globalism has its limits, especially when your arse is tied to a big brother country that was spiraling down the toilet under Biden. Canada has the resourses and people to make us much more than we currently are; just some hard work required like we used to do. The world is open to trade if we don't have a Prime Minister dork that runs around peeing everyone off. LNG should have been a big go for example, but instead we got green wokism.

The US ambassador to Canada already mentioned that Trump does not consider Canada an economic threat, so hopefully his tariffs will not apply to us.

We have the capability, I'm always surprised that we purposely weaken our position in that regard.
