De primed and removed crimped on 91ct, .223 Mil brass, uniformed primer pockets, ran neck arbors through the necks, trimmed all to length, wet tumbled and dried for storage. Have another 150ct. coming soon, so no rest for the wicked. Lot's of work, hope it is worth it. Now, I just need dies and a rifle. LOL

I got back into the reloading business. Just kidding. But today after my road race, I started to replenish my stores. I loaded a modest hundred rounds of .45 Colt.

Made a new ejector for my 9.3x62 mauser. Original one was only ejecting about 60% of the time....not near good enough for me so I fabbed up a new one. Ill probably need to make a new one in the future as the only steel I had handy was .049 thick. Original was .059 thick...It will run for now.

Warning: Hornady? Frontier 223 REM
As you all know I have been doing a bunch of brass prep in .223. Well I trimmed 91 cases today with the FC head stamp.
*10 were in trim length specs. (1.760"-1.750")
*15 or more (I never counted) were more then spec. length by at least ~20 thou.
*The rest were ~20 thou under minimum trim length. Now this does not make these unsafe. BUT the over length brass is quite worry some.
This is once fired brass.
Play safe everyone!

Loading 30/30AI rounds to shoot tomorrow out of the #3 donor rifle.
Normally I wouldn't shoot a donor gun, but the barrel amd stock set will be sold and I want to make sure the barrle is accurate so I can out an appropriate
Price on it

Welp, got the scope on the #3 in 3030AI, loaded 20 rounds, and scoped the bore- CHANGE OF PLAN!
The barrel is so nice I'm just going to sell it with the bore scope pics.
Now I have some bullets to pull, and a scope to take out of the rings! LOL

Just spent money in an auction that I don't have Does that count as future work in the reloading room?

Built the first load up for my 280ai. 160gr nosler accubonds. Started a grain lower than what the book max was and ended up 2 grs over the max load with still zero signs of pressures or stress and no sticky bolt. Finally got to what the book fps said. Using h4831sc and fed210 primers. 2945/2949fps. More or less what i was hoping for and a pretty darn good group at .75moa and felt good.
Built up a ladder test for my uncles 300wm. 180gr speer boattails... Ran imr4831 as its test. Went with Sami specs and book load - chrono said 3060/3067... 5 shots touching at sami length.
What a day. Loaded all the bullets remaining, filled out the log book with a crisp one to enjoy the rest of the evening.

Mec 9000
Loaded several hundred rounds of 7/8 oz 12 ga.
Unfortunately suffered an equipment failure on my MEC 9000.
I noticed that it was not seating primers properly and then noticed that the upper turret had fractured along a weld.
Contacted MEC and was disappointed in their response.
I have called them numerous times over the years and they have always gone out of their way to offer clear and useful advice.
This time they told me that I could order a new part if I couldn't have it repaired. This looks to me like a manufacturing defect - no weld penetration. Doubly disappointing as their customer service is usually second to none (or maybe second only to RCBS)
Interested in anyone else's view on this - maybe these things just fail - but I have loaded several 10s of thousands of rounds on other MEC machines and have never had a problem.

Trying to decide on my deer hunting load for this year - 150 or 165 TTSX booth seem to shoot equally well. Loaded up some of both - off to the range this week.

Got the Lapua brass in my 30BR to finally chamber. The R-P 7mm BR brass, necked up and neck turned functioned just fine. Lapua 6mm BR brass however necked up, and also neck turned, did not. Scratched the old noggin for a bit, then took a bit more off the shoulder neck junction, presto, a bit firm to chamber but hopefully will fire form to the chamber and be good to go next loading. I think the big jump from .243 to .308 may have moved a bit more of the brass forward. Where as the much smaller transition from .284 to .308 did not move as much brass into the neck shoulder junction.
Happy trials
