I just wanted to see a good hockey game. I was watching Netflix before the first period was done. Doesn’t mater which team you cheer for, that was as exciting as watching kids playing in outdoor park. Amusing for a few minutes but nothing to do with play off hockey. This is why I seldom watch the regular season. No team play just a bunch of overpaid teenagers showing off.

Both teams played good hockey to finish off the first round. Hopefully we will see more of that instead of embarrassing pond hockey.

The game tomorrow will be a whole bunch tighter, yet it wouldn't take much would it? Smith will be back in and playing strong like he has to this point in these playoffs. As far as 29 goes, not sure whether it's just his ankle or something else going on. Nuge? is he unwell? Maybe, never heard anything about him.

Have to be harder, way harder on the body and make Johnny earn every stride, like they are on 97. He cannot be allowed to have the space he got last night or against Dallas.

We'll take tomorrow nights game for the split, no question...GO OIL!!!

So who is going to start with an empty net in the next game? The empty net did let in fewer goals than any of the goaltenders.

Markstrom would not of been the worst if Smith had not been pulled.

But he wasn't so Markstrom was worse. You can what "if it" to death but it is what it is. It would have been a better game if they didn't play like a bunch of rejects playing on a frozen slough but again it is what it is.

Smith allowed 3 goals in 6 minutes, that is a goal every 2 minutes Markstrom would have had to allow 30 goals in 60 minutes to be as bad.

Who is to say that would have remained constant throughout the whole game. Who knows, they could have left him in and they may have not scored another goal. You will never know, that's why you can what if it to death all you want.

You can what if all you want, the math doesn't lie, Smith let in a goal for every two minutes that he played, while Markstrom let in a goal for every ten minutes that he played.

I don't even know why anyone is trying to take some kind of high ground on the topic. It really doesn't matter how any of the goaltenders played, the game is over, it was an awful game, and Flames won it handily anyway.

On to the next. Hopefully it's better.

You wait till this round ends and someone (Calgary) wins, lol. May need to “hire” another mod, hahaha.

You are absolutely correct. No sense of beating a dead horse on this one. Let's hope the next game is better.

Calgary won by a field goal.

I'm a Flames fan, so if they do win I sure won't be spending time with a therapist.

Now, some of the other mods.....

Looch is such a TOUGH guy !! Hits 97 after the whistle...he can only hit 97 when the play is stopped, otherwise he has no chance of hitting in full flight!!

That's the best part of this series, how every time anybody touches the Precious McJesus we get to hear how awful and unjust and after the whistle it was. I love it.

Chunky is gonna be in Kane and Kassians head the whole series.

Best chirp was him asking Kane if he needed some money and then went and got a hat trick.

Gonna be a good game 2 tonight!

I asked around and the score will be 3-1 in favour of Calgary. Lindholm will pocket the winner. Two points for Looch.

Go Flames.

Realistically, based off the lack of Calls last game, the Flames should win this one and score atleast 4. By game 5 they will be up 3-1 in the series. 5v5 Oilers are chasing them

It is funny, CBC was commenting how McJesus was playing so tough and leveling people, then if someone hits him (at the whistle too, not after it), it's the worst thing that ever happened.

McJesus is a big, strong kid that can take a bit of the rough stuff, and it's the playoffs, keep your head up!

Not their fault they keep being shown in the crowd. Looks like they’re having a blast in the C of Red.
