If only you guys could have your own elite section hey? Then the world would just be perfect and you wouldn't have to deal with all the rest of us supposed peasants as you view us....

Your entitled to what you think as well, just letting you know I don't think you fit into any other those categories either. ;-)

Oh really?? Lol. Quite the accusation for hunters that do it legally.

Kurt,

Not sure why you would even post something so ridiculous ? I don't even have enough fingers and toes to count the people I know that have multiple animals that qualify for B&C. Most are not registered mind you but they certain qualify.

^^^ Absolutely, knocking those who's lifestyle is one like is described above makes me wonder if jealousy is not the issue ?

I agree, it's crazy how many B&C animals are dead out there and not reported. Many due to disputes with the way they were scored.

One thing I noticed is that there are many out there who couldn't care less and/or simply don't realize how good of an animal they had shot. Seems like a big deer is easy enough to have an idea of what you have, but animals like moose, caribou that are often shot for sustenance and meat are overlooked in the trophy department. No doubt people know they are big, but they get overlooked as record animals even though they have never seen bigger.

One big variable as well is availability to hunt animals due to private land. This I think gets more impressive every year if someone shoots a record animal on crown land as there is more and more privatized land being restricted to the average hunter.

To put this into perspective, how many crown land Mulies, or even Private land Mulies Cody Robbins and his crew get to hunt that we can all hunt? To me this is essentially as much as an advantage as baiting is. But because it's legal there's nothing to stop it from being entered. I think for species like these affected, it would be neat to see a Crown land category. This being said, how impressive it is that the Broder buck was I believe shot on crown land and the most unlikely record to be broken anytime soon!

Please explain what happened last year ? You indicated that someone who may be a better sportsman than you would be a poacher if they had multiple "book" animals and I called you on how ridiculous your statement was.

When I confronted the guy that started the above thread, last year everybody jumped to his defense.

How about all the people dancing around the legality by feeding deer year-round to develop their dependence, and then removing the feeder on Oct 31st, while waiting to ambush the feed spot on Nov 1st?

Can someone explain to me how these people are ethical hunters? Isn't this an unfair advantage over hunters who do not temper with wildlife ever?

Someone is guessing that as many as 60% of hunters are baiting deer. If that is true, I hope that this 60% of hunters die of horrible wasting disease...

/There is no dilemma. Report these SOB poachers
It's illegal to set out bait for the purose of hunting, with anything but Bears. It's as simple as that.
No where does it say the bait has to be present at the time of the hunt.

Anyone doing what you say they were doing is Poaching, no if ands or buts.

No excuse I know, but at the end of the day if the biggest infraction OP's friend does is give deer some food in the fall, there is nothing imho to be angry or rilled up about.
So are you saying that you have no problem for a hunter to dump out a 100lbs of oats for deer to eat and then kill a deer over said oat pile? So you would have no issues for a hunter to do this each year even though right now in Alberta it is illegal to do so?

You seem too slow to pick up on sarcasm, and too eager to call me out on pretty much anything, it's the same as last year before you chose to deactivate yourself

I know people who travel the globe hunting, I know people who spend every day that they are capable out hunting or scouting, I know people who have enough sheds to fill your house, I too have friends who host hunting shows, i know people who eat breath and sleep hunting. I've got a whitetail collection I wouldn't be ashamed to show anyone myself. I've guided for many years, and spent many months during some years in the woods. I know without luck what it can take to first find then kill a book buck. You should try it without bait.

Take away all the "book" animals your buddies shot on a bait pile and tell me how many you can count then, I'll bet you can leave your socks on!
