Deprimed and tumbled 106 300wm brass last night. Resized and finished prepping it today. Going to do up some test loads with 180 A frames and Reloader 26 and Imr 4831.

Mark, very nice! It’s nice to see SAC utilizing the physics of free float. Everything lines up just like a coaxial style press (Forster). That shell holder design is cool! Along with the die slot means when it touches, it’s exactly in alignment. Free floating dies is why I sold my runout gauge. (BTW, bullet concentricity is not a function of seating. It’s a function of the sizing process. Despite what this guy from UR wants you to believe.)
The cam over pucks are pretty cool too. I run two Forster Coax’s. One has cam over, the other doesn’t. The SAC Nexus with those puck’s design would eliminate my need for two separate presses. (I run two just for convenience.)
I’m interested to get your impressions on the SAC dies. I’ve been interested in those for quite some time. It’s too bad for me that my set up works flawlessly or I would be diving into one of these. Congrats!

350 rounds of 7/8oz 12
First time using "Perfect Pattern"
This stuff is dense, had to go down to a MEC 18 bushing to get down to 15.3 grains - fortunately I had one buried in the box as Promo, Titewad and 700X are nowhere near as dense (28 bushing 17.5 grains)
First try with it yesterday - seems to shoot well and burn clean.
Interestingly with the increased density, and reduced charge weight should get about 50-60 extra rounds out of a pound of powder.

Had a great day picking up once fired factory brass at the range yesterday. So processing began with de-capping and wet tumbling all of my treasure.
This morning, full length sizing on the 80 pieces of 6.5CM Sako brass. These will be on stand by and ready to load when needed. The same for the 45-70, .38spl, .357mag, and .44mag that I also found at the range yesterday.

And the finished Sako 6.5CM cases…
Full length sized with a .001” shoulder bump and chamfered neck to accommodate the flat bottomed Nosler bullet.

Well done! Don’t let out that once fired brass has value or your range brass pick up days will be no more.
Especially the 45-70 find.

Set up a new set of sights on one of my TR rifles. And modified a box to hold both the front and rear sights for transport.
The old sight had about .0015 lash in the windage screw, which is not acceptable!

My impression of the dies. They are very very well made. The entire die is nitride coated. You just feel the quality. They are made to very serious standards of precision. Resizing some brass and there was only a variance of 0.001 of shoulder bump over 50 pieces.I didnt anneal that batch so it could be a function of bounce back. I have another set of 100 pieces i need to anneal and I will see if the results are similar on those.

First try seating ammon on new press
Tonight I tried seating some bullets on the new Short Action Customs press. Iwas blown away. Ive never had this level of consistency. Made 50 rounds and and check every second one. There was a variance of .0001 between all the rounds. varying from 2.133 to 2.134 to ogive.
I loaded 139gr Lapau Scenar bullets and they must be insanely consistent to get results like this. (they have a great reputation for quality and consistency)
Second the die and press were perfect. I am blown away. Ive never had a batch of ammo with that small of variance.
Hey 6MT looks like I got the picture thing figured out thanks a bunch!

Very nice Mark! I also shoot the Lapua 139gr Scenars in my x49 rig. IMHO, they are more consistent then the Berger 140gr Hybrid Targets. I also see variances of less than one half of one thousand’s of an inch with their ogive measurements.
Does that new press cam over? Can you set it to cam over?

No5 Jungle Carbine
I’m in the process of fitting a new ‘cone flash hider’ on my Jungle Carbine.
The previous owner removed the cone portion…..

Found a load for my (Walther .22 Hornet) and 45gr. freedom pills velocity is ~2500 fps.
Polished the chamber on my 6mmXC 250-3000 and worked up a load with 85gr.
Hornady projectiles. Still a bit of Remington bolt click on extraction, so I hope the new 250 Savage brass vs the Lapua 22-250 brass solves that problem. Fingers crossed. Velocity is ~3000fps should give good barrel life and not to much recoil

Inserted 200 fired primers into 200 new Lapua 6 BR brass and went to friends shop and Hydro formed them for Dasher. Came home knocked out old primers and blew them all out with compressor. FL sized with a very slight bump on shoulder and they chamber good and should be perfect after first fire. .267 bushing with loaded OD .269
Load
Lapua brass
CCI 450 mag
32.3 Varget
Berger 109 LRHT
CBTO 1.810
* for those that may take a run at Hydro Forming sometimes the spent primers do not seat flush , you have to check they are flush or they will not go in the custom (no hole) shell holder.

Loaded 50 rounds of .22 Hornet. I was having bit of trouble with stiff bullet seating till I remembered I had not chamfered the case necks after trimming DUUU ... lol just goes to show that even after 40 years of reloading I can still screw up . On a positive note the Harrell pistol powder thrower worked like a champ. Just goes to prove, buy once, cry once, is a great rule to follow.

I had a large pick-up day at the range yesterday. That combined with the 300 rounds that I shot, meant a total of 521 pieces of brass needing to be processed. The calibers were; .38spl, 357mag, .45 Colt, .270win, .303brit, 7prc, and 6.5cm.
So to begin with, I de-capped all of them and into the wet tumbler they went.
My newish tumbler has the capacity to do two drums at once. I’ve never tried this with liquid, pins, and brass before. I’ve only ever had one drum on the rollers. But after some levelling, everything worked perfectly.
Here’s the unit in action…
Then the rather large chore of separating and getting the cases onto the drying trays. It starts with the separation of the cases from the pins and then into clean water. This is so the citric acid does not continue to work on the brass.
And finally, caliber separation and onto the drying trays for a few hours.
And then..ready for the presses.

Loaded 50 rounds of 22-250 with 36gr. Barnes VG, no idea how fast they go but gopher hate em! Set up a couple more powder throwers for the varmint guns I use the most, much faster then using the RCBS charge master

Loade up the last 25 95 gr partitions for my wifes 243 ready for hunting season. Ran my 9.3 and 30-06 out to 300yds on steel. While my 13 year old did the same with the 7-08. Final push to make sure all the guns/ loads are ready to rock and roll this season. Also thumped the steel at 100 and 200 yds with the 45-70 just to make sure I can still do it lol.
