Is it traditional in Canada for FN to hunt big game at night???
Not sure how that worked stumbling around in the dark.

My niece is 1/16 native.......that's one native ancestor...a great, great grandfather or mother......but now has just gotten her "hunt without a license or season card".

And my niece is white as white rice.....except way back. She doesn't live on the reservation, doesn't practice any native spirituality, doesn't have even the slightest native cultural traditions. In fact has never even hunted....but she sure has the hunting rights now....and her husband is gearing up.

How is this reasonable....and how long can this be sustained......given enough time everyone will have an native ancestor.. Remember Elizabeth Warren in the US trying that stunt.
But really.....how far back do we go....and how far forward can this be continued, before it becomes an obscene joke based on who screwed who way back in time.

I believe drones are legal in the Northwest Territories for First Nations

Point 3: If a bunch of hillbillies shoot a bunch of moose or catch a bunch of fish illegally and get caught, they face consequences. If subsistence hunters shoot a bunch of moose or catch a bunch of fish and waste them, they can just go shoot or catch more with no consequences. I know none of the subsistence hunters on AOF have ever wasted anything, but you could at least admit that if you did, you would never be charged or prosecuted for it.
Charges apply if a FN or Metis is caught wasting or not taking all of the animal just like anyone else. But the courts cannot take away a Treaty Right, they could limit by the ability for individual to exercise their right by prohibiting the ownership and ability to carry a firearm, not sure what would happen if challenged in court especially in remote northern communities.

Default Wrong forum for racists and complainers

Hey Folks,
This is the Outdoorsmen Forum. No place for racists. Nor is it an effective place to complain about the existing laws. Has everyone who is complaining voted in all the past elections they were eligible to? Written letters to your elected officials? I hope so. Otherwise you have no right or reason to complain, other than seeking attention.
Cheers.

Being concerned about wildlife populations, conservation and safe hunting practices doesn’t necessarily make one a racist.

I don’t think it’s racist to think that everyone should be treated equally
Kinda the opposite of being racist

I've never heard of a FN or Metis hunter being convicted of any wildlife violation. The government of Alberta does not have the will to pursue and follow through on charges.

If the legal system has deemed you a danger to society and taken away your right to own a weapon, the ruling should apply regardless of your ethnicity or address. If you need a firearm to feed your family, don't do anything stupid or reckless to jeopardize the ability to own a firearm.

There have been several over the years, Operation Tamarack being one.

Why the hate towards one group then?

I condemn all unsafe and illegal hunting activities no matter who is doing it. I didn’t think we were having an argument but if you are implying I’m a racist I would assume we were arguing and I won?

Default Train Wreck

Same old story. There is only one race of people, the human race. The laws aren't going to be changed on this forum folks, so put your efforts into having your say with your MP. Not that they'll do a damn thing about it, but that is where you can vent. Not on here.
