X2!
So great to see the kids doing so well. Good mentoring, for sure!
Was pretty excited to tag along for my son's buck this weekend. And I was especially happy to witness his buddy's first ever buck as well!
Even with a lot of hunter pressure in the area we were in, it was encouraging for us to have some great encounters. One wily buck was giving us such a run-around, I just had to laugh.
Had deer pass within a few paces of me in the wide open. Just love it.

We went out on Monday. Drove around, walked around for the best part of the day. Saw one group of whites but didn’t have a chance to shoot. And just about at the last 15 minutes on our way out we came upon a field with two deers grazing and not paying any attention on us…. We parked the truck and walked back to the field, hiding in the ditch so they didn’t see us at all! Two shots rang at the same time, the buck and the doe ended their day not the way they expected….6,5 Creed( buddy’s) and 7-08( mine) one shot each. They run 20 yards max. We found the buck right away but couldn’t find the doe. We were 300 yards from the road, brought the truck back and grabbed the flashlight… took us 30 minutes to find her. She was FAT!!! Didn’t have time to take any pics in the field, got too dark. But got one at the buddy’s shop.

Meet taco or I should say meat for taco’s.
Rattled this beast in earlier this morning and all fell into place, well sorta, punched him clean through at 75 yards with the old 1915 BSA sht le III, had a goal this year to only carry this fine shooting iron and well even over a century old she still does the job fine!
Well the buck had other ideas and even after I waited 30 minutes I found him only to have one last mad dash in him and as he went by at 10 yards I folded him with the 303 and he did a summersault coming to his final resting spot.
A few tools of the trade.
Good time to use the one of a kind folder.
The start of the gutless method, quad sure makes life easier and the sled brings home the meat!
Good day to be in the outdoors.

My mom's first time coming along on a big game hunt with me and I was able to knock this guy down on the first day of the trip.

I tend to never post pictures but I enjoy everyone else's so I'll jump in.
My hunting partner takes terrible field pictures but here's the mulie buck I got this year in 305. Saw lots of bigger ones in archery season but wanted to make sure my partner got his tag filled too and I found this one to be acceptable.
My buck here next to my hunting partner's, it's his first ever after 5 years of hunting so I don't think he'd be any happier if he shot a world record buck.
My daughter is pretty pleased with it and she seems to think antlers are about the coolest thing ever. It's a long way out but I'm already looking forward to the 2035 season when she's old enough to be on the trigger.

Now that's a long rage forecast Koschenk! Seeing the little ones in the pics is wonderful, man. Glad your buddy scored and you've set up some super memories to come with your little girl. Beautiful!
