WOW, when you look at it this way, it really does show that pre-season means diddly squat. The only division where the regular season results MIGHT look like the pre-season is the South-east. Toronto gonna finish first in the North east? Rangers above New Jersey? Chicago and Detroit looking up at Columbus, Nashville and St. Lou? Phoenix dominating SJ, Edmonton over Vancouver. Uhhhh yeah right LOL

How bout them Oilers eh?
Couple nights ago buddy come home after one of the Oilers vs. Canucks game while I was watching tsn,and first thing he says to me was "How bout them Oilers eh!" I tell him it was a pretty good game to watch, except my team played like chit. He talks about how awesome Paajarvi was and I agree with him that he had a good game. We go on to talk about the other players in the game like Hall and Eberle when all of a sudden he asks me what I thought about Svensson's game... First I thought he was joking, but he was being serious. I stare at him for a moment or two and I tell him that the way he played, he looked similar to Paajarvi. Buddy agrees and tells me that my Canucks better watch out. I tell him that I'll start to worry if the Oilers make a Paajarvi-Svensson-Magnus line together. He says they would make a wicked line...
After watching the highlights from some of the other games around the league, buddy remembers a goal he saw at the game. He asks if I knew who scored it. I tell him I don't know and he tells me that his name started with a "G" I go ohhhhhh! you mean Gerber! And he goes yeah! that's him!
I look at him and say "Dustin, your a typical Oilers fan. You do know Gerber is the goalie right?"
He didn't know what to say lol. Still haven't told him about the Oilers scoring line of Paajarvi-Svensson-Magnus...

Flames always do good in the pre-season because they play there best player's while the other teams are running there 5th\6th lines playing with there rookies
Flames have plenty of time left to choke, even BrownBear416 agree's with me!!

The Casucks will not win the Cup...again..... and do a lot of head shaking in the interviews as to what went wrong...again...the Sisters will be at the salon within hrs of losing out.
It'll be interesting to watch the prairie teams....holy smoke they're both gonna rot.
Winner will likely be the Kings, Wings or an Eastern Div team....Habs, Pens maybe

FLIPPEEEEEEEEEEEER, FLIPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER!!!!!!!!!!!
4-0 Oil so far, half way through the 3rd.
I wonder what the flamer fans are going to come up with this time? "Oh it was only the first game of the year", LOL! Reality is calling you shames fans, preseason is over, no excuses now! So don't even try Shames look horrible, which is exactly what I expected considering their absolutely brutal GM at the helm. Go Oil!!!!!!!!

Actually the Flames completely dominated the Oil in the second, if not for Boulin it would have been game over. On the other hand Kipper kept them in the game in the first.

In the 2nd, sure. But actually, there are 2 other periods that matter And, sometimes your goalie has to be better than the other one to come out on top, and clearly that has happened. And, the score is so far 4-0. The final score talks, excuses walk
EDIT: WOW!!!!!! Smackintyre just clobbered Ivanans.

I don't know what's more embarrasing, losing 4-0 to the Oilers, or being helped off the ice cause you got knocked out , after starting the fight ...lol

Its about time. The Flames won the second period but thats about all. I wonder how many games Kipper won for the Flames last year all by himself. The Flames got schooled in every area of the game tonight.

Damn.. We stunk tonight.
After hearing that Ivanans is ok, all I can think about is the next game against the Oil.
He now has something to prove. Or perhaps it was such a bad beating that he could be gone in the AM..
Perhaps one more chance.
As for Kipper losing his jock.. Did you see the same goal I saw?
I saw a great/Fantastic move and a GT who made the proper play with a great move to his right. Unfortunately, you cant cover that kind of puck control. GREAT GOAL!!
I did notice one thing though..
The Oilers saluted there fans after the game..
WHY???
Perhaps because it was the first time in 365 day the Oilers actually had fans in the seats at the end of the game???
I hope for Ed's sake that they get to watch those kids play like that all year long. Even though they were wearing the absolute worst jersey in the NHL, it was something to watch them play.
Unfortunately, we will not get that pleasure this year...
GOOD LORD WE SUCK!!
I really don't see a lot of hope, but perhaps I will rack it up to "First night"
BLAHHHHHHH
I am going to bed.
GO STAMPS GO????

Worst jersey in the NHL was the flaming horse the Flamers wore, I'm assuming that Oilers retro jersey just brings you back to a time that all Flames fans despise, The Dynasty Years.
