Go Oilers. I sure hope the big German is able to lace them up for the start of the series. Not looking too good though for having him at the top of his skating ability. I think that will play a major role in the outcome of this series. Even with him in the lineup not at 100% will be better then him sitting in the press box. It’s the playoffs come on trainers/doctors give him some cortisone shots and at least the team will have a confidence boost with him on the ice.

Either way, a team from AB is going onto the conference finals. Likely against Colorado.

Older Brother is and has always been a Flames/Stampeder fan. Not sure why yet this is where he has always hung his hat. I remember making a collage out of Edmonton Sun newspaper clippings (Oiler wins of course) one year and gifting it to him when they took a cup. He tore it into 6 million bits right in front of me then promptly handed me $75.00 in pennies, which is where our double or nothing betting had arrived at that June.

Now all of these many, many years later we have a bet yet it's only bragging rights as that is all that really matters now. Whether one of our teams gets to or wins Lord Stanley or not, it's who wins this BOA.

Lets go Bro!! Let GO OIL!!

Oilers have a chance of getting past Colorado, I don't think the flames do

Looking at how tight most first round series went, it’s becoming harder and harder to predict who advances. Basically any team making the playoffs has a good shot at a cup run. Just need puck luck at key times and a hot goalie.
Any nhl caliber goalie can get hot at the right time, some goalies may hit a rough patch. She’s a crap shoot nowadays.

A requirement for Moderators is to be Leafs fans. That way they never have to worry about conflict of interest come Playoff time.

I remember a few weeks ago Oiler fans were pretty happy they only lost by one to Colorado, when the Avs were playing their backup and 3 of their starting 5 were out. Lets be honest here, neither team has a great shot at getting by Colorado.

Flames should buy some insurance and award $100,000 to a fan if Lucic scores any game winners, $250,00 if he scores 2 and $1,000,000 for more than two in the BOA series.

Maybe the same should Neal score any points?

Over the years the flaming toilet seats have only beaten the might Oilers once in playoff history. That one time was in 1986 when the Oilers gifted the flaming toilet seats the series, by scoring an own goal.

Of the 5 previous series, 3 series went 4-3 games one for the the flaming toilet seats and 2 to the mighty Oil. One series went 4-1 in favour of the Oilers and in 1988 the Oilers swept the series. Interestingly the 1988 series the flaming toilet seats had HOA as well.

You realize that in the 84 games with the oilers, Neal tallied 65 points right?

Might have to deal with them during intermission, but not for the game.

We sure didn't! Seems odd they got rid of him then.

ps. you can't count the giveaways as points if he got an assist for the other team.

Cool

In his best years with the Oilers he was also -20.

I will bet you Lucic has a better chance of getting a point than Neal in the playoffs.

He has not had the contributions Lucic has had

64 points in 3 seasons… but 28 goals. Pretty good for a tough guy. He has the heart to play.

Go Flames.

My hunch is whoever wins game 1 wins the series.

I love the fact that everyone in the media is predicting a Flames win. I wonder how McDavid is going to respond when he finds out he is the underdog.

This morning my sweet 7 year old daughter said
"I hope Connor McDavid gets covid again"

That one might be a lost cause...

You’re not too far off saying if you wonder how mcdavid will respond, with drai being injured and not near 100% the success of the oil probably relies on mcdavid getting 3+ points a game. If he doesn’t they’ll lose, they simply don’t have as much depth as some fans like to think and their defensive corona the weakest among remaining playoff teams
