Not following you keg….
Your saying Siri and Alexa are somehow linked to the gun registry?
I think sun is saying one of its purposes is to gather info on what you like and use most often to make suggestions for you in the future.

OMG! Realy!
So that is why I'm being accused of speaking in riddles!

Okay, I'll spell it out for you.

The gun registry gathered information. So does ALexa.
The government claims they got rid off all the information gathered by the gun registry.
Google is claimiing they got rid of all the information Alexa gathered.

Now do you get it?

I don't mean to be harsh, I just don't see why that is so hard to figure out.

There are laws in Canada to deal with this.

Tough time proving it though.

But if they did leak any sensitive info and it effected your life negatively you could sue them.

I doubt the validity of this "story" as there are literally millions of emails bouncing around all day.
Yep, I’d have to see this to actually believe it. Some people actually just make stuff up. It’s actually over 300 billion emails sent worldwide each day.

I just stated a fact.

No where did I say I believe they delete all their data everywhere.

However by law now they must and they can’t record the data without your approval. The on off for approvals are in the apps or device and if not the default should be spelled out. If not I wouldn’t upload.

It is technology and granted there is a give and take. They provide services that benefit those that want it. In return you give them data that helps to market products to you and in return a company pays them for that data and in return they developed and provide the device/app.

Now before you snap again.

I don’t own Alexa etc. I don’t like the privacy intrusion. Others don’t mind and who cares. It’s a personal choice. I am also careful to make sure any apps in have don’t track me or record info. Hence I didn’t download the Covid app even after it was fixed to turn that off.

Cheers.

Fair enough.

Now, I don't think I snapped at you, I asked a question.
If it came across as snapping I assure you that was not my intent.
