It's a "custom" sks I bet.
These rifle rodeo guys are serious.
I'm sure it was all captured on his helmet cam.

Can't wait for the pics!

I'm afraid many of you have jumped knee deep into a very shallow pond on this.

I know I have a large part to play in the anticipation, and build up. I'm kinda flush, thinking how many folks simple are hanging on the final outcome. It's a bit weird knowing so many are following my thread. It's very humbling to say the least.
With that in mind, please keep in mind that there is no malice involved in my intentions, even though I played it up quite a bit. It's all in good fun, and there's lots of season let.

Without further ado!

The little 7x57, and those un abashed 154gr. Hornady Interlocks, did a marvellous job.

You have a lot of followers because a lot of us are bored sitting in blinds trying to type on a very little keyboard with fat fingers. Good on ya Richard. Pretty slow over here. Makes for long sits when bucks are moving all day. Keep posting. Great thread.

Just a quick up date.
I took a few days to go hunt some elk a buddy had "living" in his backyard since late August. Of course I show up and the elk vanish. Oh well that's hunting.

I got back in the blind yesterday morning, had a few girlies saunter by, but they failed to have a boyfriend with them.

The Pit Boss on the other hand, had a heck of a night in his blind. Watching three seperate bucks chasing does, but he held off hoping for "the" buck.

My daughter got some freezer meat, shooting a doe from the ground blind(best stand we have) at a mind numbing 51 yards.

We celebrated the Pit Boss' 17th birthday last night, with a nice supper out on the town. Followed up by skinning a deer for the daughter.

The daughter is sitting this morning where the pit boss sat last night.

I'm bit tired this morning, with a 2 PM bank appointment, then I have to drive the daughter back and the MIL( they live together) back to Edmonton.

Indeed, you did earn your stripes today, buddy.
But I think the real labouring at that site was done some months before. I appreciate all the efforts you've put into your blind.
