It's probably easier/more likely, to solve your pheasant shooting issues, than Edmonton's goal tending issues.

This would be funny if it wasn't true!

Getting that first win of the season behind you is always a relief.

Good to get in the W column and our tender looked good too. Now lets string some together. Wahoo!

Hmmmm I was liking the old line up when they played the Canucks....separating the kraut and mcjesus

Put them together and then change it up accordingly like when your up 4 goals.

Soupy played well but.....can him and skinzzz share the load equally?

That's the plan anyway. Woodcroft is on record saying it's a 1A and 1B league.

Lots of fire power. Now just need to shore up defence. Way to many shots on net. Peppering weak goalies is just begging for disaster.

They can play top notch but also can confidence bomb. Easiest way to prevent the latter is to reduce the amount of shots on net.

Never watched the game. How many quality shots were on net? Or were these perimeter shots? A puck thrown at the net from the center line hardly counts.
Some teams are good at that though

True.
Last season Calgary outshot their opponents. Usually by a large margin.
The old just get it to the net and good things will happen rule is fading away as modern hockey progresses.

New Headlines

Oiler goalie gets pounded again. Defence expected to return to the line up soon. Eat at the concession so you have something better to complain about during an Oiler game. But hey… at least the Oilers Dress in NDP colours so they blend into the city and no one can attack them.

They still only have two good forward lines, one good defenseman and no tenders i would trust for a playoff run.

I think we got weaker by letting Kostin go. He's already a fan favorite in the Motor City these days with his hard nosed compete level.

The addition of Connor Brown has done absolutely nothing. 4 games with 0's across the board and a minus 3. I don't even notice him on the ice.

I know its early but hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard.....

Just like the Elksimos the Oilers are turning into the team that Edmontonians truly deserve. I know, really early in the season to be making such a bold statement....but I'll stand by it until the goaltending and defense issues are resolved.

I guess the “cup or bust” comment from McJesus and Draisaitl kind of backfired. Now the whole league is not only laughing at the lowly Oilers, but every team is now motivated to ram that silly comment down their throats in every game.

The Oilers will struggle to even make the playoffs this year.

Lots of seats on the bandwagon opening up already While not the start I expected, I suspect it will turn to the good pretty quick.

I don't think there are any seats opening up actually. Those that come on the thread sporting the same effects of popping a blue pill over an Oilers loss were never fans to start with.
For whatever reason the oil always seem to be slow out the gate. Lot's of games yet

Seems a bit early for making these kind of predictions... 4 games in?
How many Times have the Oil come out of the gate gangbusters only to flame out (pun intended) before Christmas and then struggle the last half to stay in the hunt.
I would rather see a slow /crappy start where they have the time to make corrections where needed.
