How many animals are allowed to be harvested out of there this season?

Hey everyone

I've been drawn for the first bull hunt on the base.woo hoo. Same has others....not sure what to expect but excited big time.

I'm wondering how to find out some info or wondering if I will be sent said info?

Things like:

Where to meet for morning meeting?
-what time are the meetings?
- hunter orange or red requirement?
- bringing a buddy? Their requirements?

Thanks in advance for any help or advice people have

In the past orange vest and hat.
The only gong show was the first morning checkin was brutally slow. As for the Bulls, we saw them all over the base in smaller groups. We passed one bunch 35 yards and they didn't even have emerge courtesy to stand up and show off. Just laid there.....
As for hotels. We booked the day before the hunt. We stayed at the Travel Lodge on the east side of brooks. We checked out daily as we didn't want to stay once we had our cow. We came from Calgary, so I didn't see the point in driving past the base just to backtrack the next morning. This the reason we stayed in Brooks. (Yes it's a bit further in the AM). But $95 bucks and free breakfast 👍
Have fun

Thumbs down

The word on the street is that the natives have been shooting bull elk for the last couple weeks. Sure glad I didn't burn 12+years on elk on or around the base. This is a fact!!

Nothing like stirring up the community with the word on the street.

Glad it's a fact for your first post and I wouldn't have believed it other wise.....

We have some bull tags (oops... Sorry elk11, I meant Antered elk tags) off the base for the last 2 seasons and have been talking to some ranches around the base and have been told that the FN guys have been helping them out with the elk problems, but if they don't get any rain soon they will be shutting there land down for all elk hunters until the moisture levels get better, for both FN and non FN hunters... So yes I know for a fact that FN guys have been killing elk off the base this fall already, not sure about on the base though..

Jim...

I have also heard that quite a few huge bulls have been shot outside the block. Hang out at the Jenner store and you will see them roll through. I heard today that FN hunters will be allowed inside the base in the middle of October.

I cannot speak for this year but do know for a fact that many Bulls were harvested last year in late August by FN hunters on the outside of the base. I had a chat with a few individuals while they were filling there trucks with gas. They had the racks all in the back of one truck. What a sight!

I guess this thread will be getting locked and or deleted like the last one did? Too bad, had some good info and great jabs in there too at some AO members. Should get an AO member undercover at the gas station in Jenner to send some pics over as they see them roll in. Last years were pretty sweet to see, even the leaked out FB pics too! The one bull was huge, nice symmetrical 7x7. Remember guys, it's a cull, not a hunt! JK
