Flames, 4-0-0 to start the season.

When's the last time that happened??

Wolf sure looked good in net. Good forechecking and backchecking by the whole team tonight.

They are playing with mistakes but playing with fire and passion. If they keep that up they will be a hard team to play against. The million dollar question is can we keep improving? I really hope so on one hand as it make up competitive for the playoffs.

The flip side is if we are just good enough to be average we don’t get a great draft pick.

Well...dangit.

They couldn't beat the refs and Kraken. Brutal giveaway to end the game in OT. Still, 9 out of 10 points to start season.

Kirkland with the OT winner, what a shot! And Flames go 5-0-1. Haven't lost in regulation. Not bad for a bottom tier team.

I heard Oilers got a point tonight too.

Go Flames!

Taking four straight penalties in the 3rd when the game is tied isn't ideal though fellas...

Empty net goal, short handed goal, even strength goal, and two power play goals. 5-3 and they scored one 5v5 goal, seems our special teams may need a bit of work...

Alberta hockey fans need to cheer for teams outside the borders. Making much happier people.

Well, was it actually a bad night for Calgary?

Lets be honest, it's still early, but is Calgary a good hockey team? These players are all good, they are in the NHL, and hard work can take a team a long ways. I'd take a MacKinnon working at 100% all day long before a McDavid at 90%. That being said, I'd take a McDavid at 80% all day long before a Tuch at 100%. It's possible hard work could take a team all the way to the cup. I don't believe it's likely though... Are we really going to beat a Winnipeg, Dallas, Vegas, etc. in a 7 game series?

Are we even going to make the playoffs? I'll break it down for how I think it will play out...

I'll start at the bottom, I feel San Jose, Chicago, and Anaheim have no chance. So 8 out of the remaining 13 will make it.

Going to the top, I feel Winnipeg, Dallas, Minnesota, Vegas, and Vancouver will make it in (Edmonton maybe, if they figure it out...?).

So now we have 8 teams, Colorado, St. Louis, Utah, Nashville, LA, Calgary, Seattle, and Edmonton battling for three spots. Breaking that down, I think Colorado, Utah, Nashville, LA, and Edmonton have a better chance than Calgary, Seattle, and St. Louis. Aka, I don't think Calgary is making the playoffs.

So, if they aren't making the playoffs, I'd rather them lose and finish bottom five and get a good draft pick than win just enough and finish 9th in the conference.

I don't think anyone expected Calgary to beat Vegas, but yea, a 5-0 game isn't terribly exciting to watch, unless you're a Vegas fan.

My grandson's game from York University was supposed to be on last night but something went wonky and we never got the feed, I was bored so watched the Flames, full credit for the win, they looked good. The ceremony for Backlund's 1000 th game was well done, kudo's to the flames for that.

Flames Win, young Wolfe get's his first NHL shut out and it's so quiet over here you could hear a squirrel fart.

Oh well I guess " BOTH " flames fans were glued to that riveting fight last night and missed the hockey game
