Congrats on the gun. You might want to pick up a limbsaver recoil pad. Tikka's have terrible pads on their otherwise excellent guns.

Another vote for tikka, I have 3 of them, 7mm mag, 6.5x55 and 22-250 all good shooters.

Wink Tikka Decision ??

Well I have a couple and all have great triggers and barrels, for the dollar they are hard to beat and with a Limbsaver pad it's easy on your shoulder, in 300WSM.. Slick action and there are aftermarket accs. !! If needed, look into Tikka Shooters Forum and get an eye full of praise.. !! JMO.

If you are going with a 270wsm.......
Then take a look at a 6.5x55 SE tikka I think you find it more accurate and just a better caliber over all.
Ask anyone that owns a 6.5x55 SE tikka.
My 2 cents

I have a plastic .223 T3 and my dad has a wooden 7mm T3. His kicks like a mule and I don't like how cheap the stock feels on my (synthetic) T3. The magazine spring wears out easily. Both are accurate but still not as accurate as either of my 700's. I love the feel, action, reliabily and accuracy of the legendary 700

T3 all day everyday. There is a reason remington is going bankrupt, unless its a custom built 700 i wouldnt touch one. Who would have thought having appalling quality control would lead to becoming bankrupt.

Just to be clear I have a 1980s 870 Wingmaster i love and old Remingtons are great, new ones not so much.

I have had Tikka and Remington 700. The Tikka is gone but the 700 is in the cabinet. Neither is better than the other.

Well, I have both and like them for what they are in a way.
For me ,Tikka is a cheap version of Sako as good as it could be.
But those plastic things on a bolt and plastic magazine does not make me happy at all .
On a top Tikka has much worse extractor then Remington .
But Remington 700 from the box has very bad trigger as well.
It takes a very good, and I mean it, gunsmith to turn a 4 lb trigger on a Rem into shootable a 2.1/4 rifle.
To make it short ,when everything is all right any will do .
For extreme weather condition I would go with Rem .
